Liston is definitely greater, but i always thought stylistically tucker would be a tough matchup for liston, because tuckers style was similar to ali's style. What do you guys think?
This is one of those H2H's where you don't pick against the great fighter, because he's the great fighter, and it makes the thread seem pointless, even though you also get the logic of why it was proposed, minus the rose tint on your glasses.
While it is true that Tucker had some stylistic similarities to Ali the problem is that they were only similarities. He wasn’t as fleet footed and definitely did not have Ali!s hand speed. I believe that Sonny would have caught Tucker sooner rather than later, and I can see a knockout within the first six rounds.
Fair enough, i got sonny too. However i could see tucker surviving atleast up until 10th or 11th round. Tucker is very durable, he went to the distance against both lennox and tyson.
Tucker is a problem for many boxers M Spinks avoided him to take a more lucrative fight with Cooney.I think Tucker at his beat would beat Spinks,he loses a close one to Sonny IMO.
