Lots of people still doubt the moon landing, too.

Boxing insiders could smell it was rotten well before the opening bell, which is why it wound up in Nowheresville, Maine to start with.

Liston has his nose broken by Williams and shipped some big shots from him but came through to ko him both times. Prime Wlad was ko'd 3 times by men not in Liston's class. If Cleve Williams landed the shots on Wlad that he did on Sonny ,Wlad would be out for a week.
Sonny by Ko after an embarrassing panic attack by the leaning on
    " Grabimir".

Ali was the better man in both fights, I would not take anything away from him.

I would personally loved to have seen Liston at 208lbs rematch fight Ali as originally planned before he had his hernia - we would have seen a hell of a fight.

What people THINK is irrelevant. Liston himself tried to blame Jersey Joe, and the timekeeper, claiming he was up and ready to fight, which the film appears to endorse. However the debate is whether Liston just went through the motions knowing that at least ten seconds had passed no matter what confusion there was going on at the time. In other words he quit AGAIN but tried to save face.

Sonny Liston had QUIT in him. Klitchko doesn't. It is as simple as that. One big right hand from WK and Liston is looking for the door.

If this statement is true ,why didnt Liston quit when he had his jaw broken against Marshall ,or had his nose busted by Williams?

The opening line of Poxy's post "What people think is irrelevant", kind of tips you off as regards whom you are trying to debate with.

    Dear oh dear Fay.

I suggest you let people know when your birthday is coming up, so they can club together and buy you a new shovel, because the one you have must be close to wearing out with the amount of holes you keep digging.

There is a saying which goes " a picture paints a thousand words " and the iconic picture that decorates thousands of bars, restaurants, and gyms worldwide of Ali standing over a prostrate Liston SCREAMING at him to get up, speaks volumes compared to any worthless garbage that may emanate from your mouth, or indeed your keyboard.:hi:

A picture shows Liston being defeated by a better boxer - who is widely considered the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time.

What about that picture of Cassius Clay on his ass against Henry Cooper?

What about him being killed by Larry Holmes or Trevor Berbick?

What about Wlad and his beating against Lamon Brewster?

What has various KO pictures got to do with Wladimir having any chance of beating Liston?

Try to construct a credible argument or this debate is as good as dead.

Is revisionism a disease that is peculiar to people from Kunt ( oops my bad, I mean Kent ) or is it wider spread?

There is nothing iconic about a fighter going down from a good shot. There is however something iconic about a guy going down as though hit by a snipers bullet from little more than a slap, and the guy who delivered said slap standing over him screaming " get up you coward "

    Quit job

I'll put it another way: lots of reasonable people believe Ali KO'd Liston. It's not even the strangest first round KO I can think of.

Boxing insiders believed the first right was fixed. Liston was banned for losing. That doesn't preclude a knockout.

    Agree.

    Does this include yourself?

I agree with this. I'd say there has to be a distinction.

The whole thing is very muddy, and I don't think any one conclusion should be painted as "A FACT".
