And Roy never face an animal like SRR's pinky.
Are you seriously making a comment about the level of competition each faced???? Seriously?

Stupid thread. Weight difference is too big. And if I remember correctly SRR fought in same day weigh-in.

RJJ by TKO. Even if his chin is supposedly china (which I think only happened after too much weight jumping).

SRR by KO he had speed and an Iron Chin. Jones had a Glass Jaw and was scared to take a punch. SRR fought and beat the better fighters that isn't debatable. At all.

Well their were training methods and knowledge available to RJJ that weren't available to SRR so I gotta go with Jones. (plus he's the naturally bigger man)

Ray is the greatest fighter ever and his level of competition was on a different stratosphere.

However, he was little more than a blown-up welter when he fought La Motta - prime Roy was a Super-Middleweight who had the speed of a man 20lbs lighter.

Robinson was superior in just about every way but even he isn't giving away a huge size advantage and beating a guy who would beat most 160-175 fighters in history.

I've said this before, I will say it again. The 90's middleweights Nunn, Toney Jones and Hopkins might not have the best resumes. However in head to head terms I like them best at 160.

In my opinion Jones would win.

The good thing is SRR would have taken the fight. He regularly gave away weight .

Ray Robinson would be giving up a lot of size to Jones. Robinson was not a very big guy. Honestly, people seem to forget how good and dominant Roy Jones was as well. Robinson would not have a speed advantage.

Noway Robinson beats him at 160. Shoot, I don't know if anybody beats Jones at 160-168 in history.

Jones was a freak athlete. Also had some scientific enhancement. Also had the evolving nutrition and training. Blah blah Nub.

Fighters and fighting evolves; albeit slower now with boxing. RJJ would ice Lamotta 10/10 with one hand. Fighters of yesteryear did some great things, had a lot of heart and were very stupid and 1 dimensional. 15 round fights, fighting every month, just completely different eras whereas it's stupid to talk about.

You have to take fighters and compare them to really their same era (prime jones Vs slappy). People that think fighters from many eras ago would even be relevant are completely old themselves, or just stupid armchair fan boys that grasp at the old days when they sit in dive bars with their high school football jacket on and D3 ring as they drink beers and talk about "the old days."

SRR was much greater; in his time considering what he did. However to even think to make a post on this is so completely Nubby. :!:

I seriously doubt that if anyone had to bet everything they had on either fighter, at 160 or 168... they would actually pick Robinson. Jones would have ****ing murdered him.

That's not what I meant. It's obvious Ray had the better resume....the unorthodoxness combined with the once in a lifetime athletic qualities is something no one in history has seen before Roy Jones.
