at welterweight or maybe 154 srr was unbeatable, middleweight, super middleweight and LH RJJ was unbeatable, we talk both fighters in there prime, srr being at welterweight and jones jr. for me at super middleweight

I'd go with SRR prime for prime, at one point he gets Jones with a hard punch, also a big problem for most of jones opponents were that they simply werent fast enough to catch him, srr was fast enough, could take a punch and his hooks were nearly if not perfect from timing, to speed too generated power + accuracy!!

Roy took plenty of hard punches well. He wasn't Micky Ward, but he wasn't china chinned.

The Tarver KO shot his reflexes and punch resistance.

The only time Roy was down before that was the De Valle KD and it was more of him slipping than the actual punch.

Damn man please say that one more time. I have said this a hundred times. He went up 25 lbs and then dropped it all and start getting checked. When you get up to 200, your body is getting comfortable at that weight and even though you can lose it all, your body is natural going to try to get that weight back. He probably was walking around that weight when he wasn't training.

He didn't go up 25 lbs. He went up more like 15 lbs, but he took it off incorrectly and it ruined him.

Prime to prime would be a 147 lb. Robinson fighting a 160 or 168 lb. Jones. Not a fair comparison. Robinson was the greater, but smaller fighter. That's like asking, "who would win prime to prime, Pacquiao and Hagler?"

I do think SRR was p4p the greatest fighter ever.......but that's still p4p. Realistically, prime RJJ is naturally much bigger and stronger. And his speed is ridiculous. You just couldn't hit the ****er. As much as I hate to say it, prime RJJ would win. Would be interesting to see though.

Nice video. I saw it once before. I agree with your point, but would like to add to it a bit. A 34 year old Roy Jones, Jr. moved to heavyweight, gaining about 25 lbs. of muscle in the process. He had to lose that 25 lbs. of muscle for his very next fight against a man who would've been a bad style match up for Jones on his best day in Antonio Tarver. Jones still dug deep and pulled out the win. Jones said that making that weight was the hardest thing he ever had to do. This move, especially at his age, ruined his great reflexes. Jones style was not well suited for age. He made a lot of mistakes in the ring, but got away with them due to his extraordinary speed and reflexes. Once the reflexes slowed, all of that speed that he still possessed wasn't enough to save him. Jones didn't have a china chin. He had a decent one. Once his reflexes slowed and he got KO'd by Tarver in fight two, that was it. He came back too fast against Glen Johnson, who he obviously underestimated, and got KO'd again. It was clear that the Superman, Roy Jones was no longer the super fighter that he once was. In his prime though, he was one of the very greatest who ever lived.
