what a gay ****ing thread! rofl! Making a thread about the obvious wtf is that dude. First of all, Whitaker NEVER lost in his ****ing prime so why bring up a make up scenario between Cotto who is still up and coming to an all time great? dude are you just a ****ing ******ed hater to make such a dumb thread or something? Whitaker never really lost a fight in his prime what kind of joke is this ****. get ****ed

Pea beats Cotto at this point likely, but he sure as hell would not toy with Paul Williams. That is a very bad matchup.

    This a joke?

Sweet Pea would EMBARRASS Cotto....everything Cotto does well, Pernell does things to negate it.

Embarass is a very strong word, and you underrate Cotto simply because he is a recent fighter. This would be a bit closer than Pea/Chavez, and I mean that.

Aparently you dont follow my posting patterns very much. I dont rate a fighter higher than another due to time or era.

Cotto is a strong, come forward fighter who wears his opponents down with a PHENOMINAL body attack and a relentless style. He is physically one of the strongest fighters I have ever seen.

His weaknesses are his hand speed and lack of movement.

A fighter like Whitaker would fight him all night off his back foot...ala the Chavez robbery (I refuse to call this a fight...)....pepperring Cotto with his jab and working off of it. He was too fast, too talented, too accurate a puncher and too smart to let Cotto fight his fight. Some would call Whitaker a runner after this fight...but it would be an embarrassment.

Ironically, I see a Mayweather/Cotto fight going pretty much the same way.

    I doubt you have.

You've never seen Chavez disfigure guys like Cotto has? Did you see the Meldrick Taylor fight? This isn't Zab Judah or Chop Chop Corley we're talking about here this is Meldrick Taylor. Chavez turned his face to mush.

Did you see the way Chavez beat Camacho down? That was a worse beat down than the ones Oscar and Tito were able to lay on a WAY WAY past his prime Camacho.

Did you see the Rosario fight? Again, get a look at his face after the fight? Chavez systematically destroyed him.

Did you see the Haugen fight? Had Greg ever taken such a beating? Chavez pulverized him.

The list goes on and on of guys Chavez has dismantled, e.g. Roger Mayweather (twice), Mario Martinez, Ruben Castillo, Tony Lopez etc.

All I know is that there is no way Chavez would have been put on the backfoot by a 36 year old Shane Mosley. The Chavez that faced Whitaker would have knocked Mosley out I feel, and he would have disposed of Judah by the midway point of the bout.

Cotto is more versatile, as well as bigger, than the Chavez Pea faced. Pea wins this fight, but it's no embarassment.
