Cotto was overrated... but so was Bradley.

I hate Cotto and like Timmy.

Cotto wins by close decision or by late stoppage.

They are similar levels in terms of skill but Cotto hit harder.

Its not undeserved credit, its what he earned on his way up to where he ended against Ali. He really was a very good fighter especially at 140 and 147.
A lot of people like to diminish his credit based on what he did at or around the MW division which I don't understand personally either.

Yeah? The Provodnikov fight was at 147lbs. Bradley was in his prime at 140lbs.

Tim Bradley is the single most underrated fighters in the past ten years. His resume from 07' onwards is absolutely legit. I could definitely see Cotto getting the Marquez treatment from Timbo.

Cotto. Better boxer, better footwork, much stronger, great body attack.

Cotto and JMM fight nothing alike. JMM has trouble with backfoot/slick fighters, look at his history.

The main difference between JMM and Cotto, look at their fight with Floyd. JMM got embarrassed whilst Cotto gave Floyd his toughest fight. Bradley basically followed the floyd blueprint vs JMM.

Provodnikov is a natural 140lber, 2 140lber fighting at 147. Cotto is basically everything Prov is but better.

Cotto starts off strong but gasses around round 4. Bradley gets the rest of the rounds picking up a UD.

Kind of want to say a draw, straight up. Cotto razor close if I lean one way. Bradley would probably win the back half.

Ha man, come on and think before you post that..
Reflect on Cotto's losses to Floyd, Trout, Canelo, Sadam Ali.....whats the reoccurring theme? All beat him fighting off the back foot...

Bradley at 140lbs is a terrible fight for him.

Would have been a great fight. Pick em fight with a slight lean to Cotto.

Cotto definitely takes the early rounds, he had the power to deter Bradley early and the skills to outbox him before he fades late on and gets dragged into a fight.

That said, Cotto dips his head forward when he throws bombs, Bradley jumps in with his head. This fight gets stopped on ugly cuts caused by a head clash, at that point Cotto is up on points and takes it clear. Definitely!

Crazy. Feels like yesterday these guys were both on p4p lists. You blink, and suddenly two of the sports' top names are retired (and not a day too soon, in either case)
