    No?

Moorer started as a Light Heavy and then moved up.

Even at 250 pounds or thereabouts he carried the weight very well, looked veyr muscular.

No mentions of Moorer beating Bonecrusher Smith convincingly, even though he was outweighed by almost 30 pounds?

Witherspoon at his best would beat Moorer, I'm confident of that. He's the better 'pure' boxer of the two, had better fundamental skills, was more durable and in addition possessed underrated power.

Moorer could make things pretty competitive and proved to be a difficult fighter to face stylistically, but once 'Spoon finds his range the shots would take their affect and he'd wear Moorer down for a mid-round stoppage.

    Witherspoon TKO7 Moorer

Thanks Russell. I stand corrected. Moorer started at LH. But Moorer looks fat at 250 pounds. He is able to get away with it because most heavyweights today are fat. Compare him to the heavies of the past or to Wlad to see what I mean.

But what is wrong, Russell? I did say that Michael Moorer is a fine fighter. Only that IMHO, Witherspoon was the better all round fighter and in a boxing match between the two he is the one likely to come out the winner. Most other posters in this thread seem to agree with me.

By the way, are we overrating Moorer a bit for his win over the great Holyfield.

At his best, Tim was one tough joker. He would have Michael out of there by the third round.Too much for Moorer.

witherspoon has the better chin and can bang himself if he turns up in shape he wins by stoppage in the later rounds (probably)

Witherspoon had too much power for Moorer's chin. Do not forget Moorer was down against pretty much any top fighter he met at HW. His defence was also far from great so Witherspoon lands his trademark overhand right sooner or later.
