You can think of Tito having a welterwt prime and a middlewt prime.

His 'middlewt prime was in 2001.

(Duran had a lightwt prime, early seventies and a welterwt prime, 1980/81)

Trinidad should have never fought above Jr. Middleweight!!!!
And this fight would have to at 160lbs, Pavlik by T.K.O. within 5Rds.

That said Felix would give it his all until KP catches him.
Papa Trinidad would not allow Felix to take too much damage before
he throws in the towel. Only way you beat Trinidad is to take him off his feet.

(I'd defo be going for Felix to win tho.....)

Tito's power at middleweight is extremly underrated simply because he could not hurt a guy that has a granite chin and boxed his ears off (this was the case with Winky and Hopkins). He still carried a big punch (just ask william joppy).

Pavlik gets hit a lot and does not have the boxing ability to avoid tito's power. I'd say this is a shoot out that could go either way.

Tito can't fight anybody with a good jab.

I am a Tito fan but Pavlik would win by decision... I think that Hopkins defense is better than Kelly so Trinidad might have a better chance to land punches but power vs power I have to pick Kelly. Tito is too small for 160. I wish I can visit his dad in PR and just get them to realize that Tito sould not fight anymore. If he still has the desire he needs to come down to 154 and if he can't make it, he needs to go home.

Pavlik by KO. There's no way Tito will seriously hurt Pavlik and he'll be too small to handle Pavlik's insane power.

So you don't think that Tito had legitamite middleweight power? I'm adressing you directly cause I know you have some more boxing knowledge than a lot of the pavlik bandwagon jumpers in this thread.

Looking at Tito's complete destruction of Joppy to me shows that Tito could still hit harder than most middleweights. **** Joppy has never been KO'd by any other middle and he's fought a who's who including Hopkins and Taylor (who had Pavlik on ***** street).

I think his middleweight power was underrated because he fought Winky and Bernard. Both guys have extremly solid chins (Bernard took 12 rounds of Roy's best shots and Roy was a big puncher at middle plus he wasn't ever hurt even at light heavy) and both guys pretty much avoided Tito's power for the full 12 rounds.

I don't think that pavlik hsa the boxing ability to do that.

Tito was not prime when he fought Hopkins. He was undefeated, Not in his prime. 160lbs threw him so off his game it wasn't even funny. Even in Tito's destruction of Joppy at 160lbs he was still nothing close to his dominance at 154 lbs.

Tito fan here but what's this "dominance at 154" you speak of?

I'm very surprised so many are picking Pavlik over Tito.:huh
