We didn't get to see much of Shane at 147 but Tito was at his absolute best at 154. But a young Tito during the mid 90's? Shiiiite. Mosley in a razor thin decision at WW unless he doesn't get caught with anything silly. If so Tito would soon finish him. At 154? Tito without a doubt. If Trinidad would have stayed at 154 for a few more years till say, 04 or 05, he would be just right for 160 and could possibly have beaten Hopkins who by 05 was hurting himself making 160.
Not really, he is too slow of hand and foot to out box a man like prime Mosley. And mosley chin is pretty solid as well, the punchers chsnce titop would have, would be limited.
Shane is a strong welterweight (very durable also), but tito packs a monster punch. i'm not sure if shane has been hit with that kind of power. however, shane also packs power in his right hand and tito has been down many times (i doubt if he's hurt). i think shane could stun him once in a while. hard to call, but im gonna go with shane by UD with possible knockdown down the stretch.
:nono Common misconception that Mosley was this great boxer due to the fact that he had awesome handspeed. He was by no means a great "boxer" He liked to engage more eften than not. He would box Tito sure but he would also stand and trade like he did with Oscar, he did not "outbox" Oscar, he outfought him.
you dont have to move backwards to be a great boxer, shane had good head movement and parried and caught most of the shots thrown at him. Mosley WAS a good boxer, i wont dissagree with you however that he out fought DeLa Hoya. My prediction still stands. Mosley UD, you can pretty much guarentee Titos arse touching the canvas atleast once aswel...
Shane Mosely is very good in h2h matches, however I think Tito takes this one. Tito's jab and accurate punches plus Shane's mindset of always trading punches tells me Tito would always find a way against Shane. If Cotto was able back up Shane in the middle rounds before tiring himself, I think Tito could put some hurt on Mosely too, except he wouldn't be the one moving away in the later rounds.
A few months ago I would actually lean towards Mosley, but my hatred for the guy has me hoping Tito would break his face.:fire
All these "Mosley will be lured into a slugfest" posts are off base. Anybody see a green SSM sparring Chavez when he was champ? Or an older Mosely in the first Vargas fight? Shane could stick and move very well, and had the chin to bail him out if Tito did clip him on occasion. Mosley UD 116-112, in a great fight.
