Imagine we are in an era with only One Title Belt and either SRR or Hearns have that belt. And somehow, Pac and Floyd grew the balls to challenge them (which they wouldn't)...at Welterweight, and no catch-weights.
How would you view the both of them, Pac and Floyd, after they are stretched out on the canvas?

Would it hurt their legacy, help it for having the ballz to do so, etc.

And who takes a bigger hit on their legacy?

    Honest questions here.

Why stop there, don't they beat just about any WW in history?
(Why pick on Pac & PBF)

none of them, these dudes started out at ****ing flyweight and sfw respectively, getting ktfo'd by 2 top ten atg welters(and murderous ko punchers) wouldnt hurt anything.

Obviously not. Hearns lost to SRL.

If you want, the entire current WW division would succumb to SRR and Hearns.

    WOW!

Do you really think the 6''1 future Crusierweight would beat the 5''6 former Flyweight? I would never have guessed!

It would have definetely hurt Floyd's since he stakes his legacy on that 0.

How about in today's era of thought?

That's one of the points I'm trying to touch on.
Comparing the way people may have felt about a loss, even a KO loss, back in the day, compared to today's media crazed blitz and fan filled forums which see fighters fight so few in a year.

I can care less what their future weight division is.

I'm talking about the WW division here.

If you can compete in that division, your attributes are for that division.

Today's era of thought literally cannot produce fighters of SRR and Hearns' caliber. That's why this discussion is . Part of the reason Pac and PBF have been able to clown their way through so many weight classes is the lack of truly great comp and in some cases, fighters skipped at certain weights(pac not really committing to LW, floyd bitching out of 147 with a retirement, avoiding casamayor/freitas/the mexican trio or simply not taking/making those fights)

    What a pointlessly obvious thread.

I wouldn't be surprised if they both got blown out the water by SRL and Hearns but then again those two guys are straight up H2H monsters at WW.

PAC would have the balls to challenge and fail..... Floyd?:verysad But I agree....Prime SRR for sure beats both PAC and Manny and Hearns I'm pretty sure as well.

Floyd NOT taking the challenge would hurt his legacy more than PAC stepping up and failing the challenge. I think it would only help PACs legacy by doing exactly what he's doing in his own era of boxing. Look at DLH. He faced EVERYONE and failed his biggest tests but lets say DLH didn't have ANY of the names he lost against..:think His legacy wouldn't be as strong that's for sure.

forget past prime srr, even the faded 160 version that lost to lamotta, basilio, etc would lay a whooping on both. a dirty beating.

Hearns was a future Cruiserweight, my point being he was a massive WW and Pacquiao is a small one.

At that age SRR was a Featherweight, still a lot bigger than Flyweight dont you think? Or did you find that out after you asked, is that why you completely changed your comment?
