Honestly, if we're gonna rank Pacquiao ATG at any weight top ten it will be featherweight. that's where his best comp is.

Yes, but again...nobody at that time knew Tommy would go on to continually move up as much as he did. You may have thought it was possible for him to at least go to MW, but even still...he was a WW at the time.
If you are in the division, it doesn't matter what they will do in the future.

Hearns and SRR would still be fighting at 147. And if Pac and Floyd are at WW/147, they would have to fight them both.

Now, are you saying that if those two were there in the division, the decision of Pac and Floyd would be to just not move up?

One point that was touched on already is still about how people view losses today. If both are KO'd, how is the fan and media reaction afterward?
How are the so called "historians" of today going to view it?
And would that have been different if it were in a past era?

and how do we view legacy?
Without those title belts at WW, how are things different for the both of them?

You have to take into account what somebody did in the future when your looking back like this. Hearns was a freak of nature at WW and Pacquiao was a former Flyweight.

It does nothing to change Pacquiao's legacy. IMO his best wins are at Feather and that's where he should be rated.

Pretty much, although I wonder where one would rank him at welter(obviously not top 10, but it would be hard to say. He will have good comp at the class before all is said and done).

That would be answer I would be looking for.

I want to see how people view it.

Yes, this is the other thing in the broad question I asked.

How are people viewing either fighter, Pac and Floyd, as WW.

I wonder the same for each division they fought in.

Both are not top ten material at WW(i'm including JWW, some of the junior classes make rating newer fighters with older ones annoying as ****)

Pac has W's over Cotto, Clottey, Hatton, and a shot shot Oscar. Not nearly enough to even really get a top 15 shout, although H2H i think he would give a lot of people a hell of a time.

PBF has W's over Judah, Baldobum, Corley, Bruseles, Hatton, and old ass Mosley. Good resume, but not really great either in an ATG sense.

Their campaigns at WW are good, even great considering their boxing points of origin but not really top ten worthy, not really long enough reigns and their resumes are missing a lot of names. H2H they would definitely give a lot of the top ten in WW issues, but resume is what always matters in the end. For the record I have Pac in my top 10 at FW and Floyd at my top 10 at LW(i'm merging SFW with LW).

I reckon Pacquiao WOULD step up to the plate....and get knocked out as he is tailor made for Hearns with his come forward style.

Mayweather wouldn't have the balls but would be too elusive for Tommy to spark out... Mayweather UD

Zab would whip both they ass though!

    Just kidding...

Hearns is my favorite fighter of all time, and I just wish he could have had a crack at these guys nowadays. But I think it would be unfair to judge the legacy of Pac if he had to fight Hearns or Leonard. As stated before, his true legacy was made in the lower weights, not these clown shows he's had recently...

Exceptional fighters who started at 147 and went on to win at weights as high as 175 and Cruiserweight should be beating Pac and Floyd...

I don't think that has anything to do with it. I don;t see the connection guys try to make when they say "a former flyweight" or **** like that.

If the guy weighs 147, then that's how you judge him. And at 147, Hearns was a better fighter than Pac. - Especialy considering the fact that they had same-day weighins back then. If Hearns was given the chance to rehydrate to 154, where he fought Duran... can you imagine the beating he would have put on one of those guys?

What a shocking idea! Here's another, Duran would beat the **** out of either at 135. Oh wait -- I feel another revelation coming!!!! Arguello beats both at 130! As amazing as it may sound, we've actually had this conversation before.
