Morrison gets underrated alot due to his glass jaw . He was a respectable fighter and had an "excellent" left hook . I see him TKO'ing Rahman .
middle of the road? good grief. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=6070&cat=boxer the only fighters that hassim didi not fight in his era was tyson, byrd, peter and brewster. that list of fighters is a whos who of the heavyweight division. tua couldnt ko hassim(rahman was only kod after tua hit him after the bell and tuas left hook and chin was far superior to that of tommys) and lennox feared the punching power of david so much he elected to safely box his way to a decison. against morrison, lewis simply toyed with him for four rounds and then matter-of-fact ko'd him. youtube that fight. it really shows you how limited and one dimisional tommy was to someone with a good solid jab, like hassim rahman.
I wouldn't say Tommy was a front-runner. Only time I saw him really give in mentally was against Lewis. The other times, he just got knocked silly. He rallied or went through some really rough times to beat Ruddock, Williams, Yaulin (to a lesser extent), and especially Hipp. It was other weaknesses that did him in. Rahman was more proven against a higher level of opposition. Morrison was faster and had more fluid combos, but had a weaker chin. Not an especially good defensive fighter either. I assume Morrison would not barge in like an idiot like he did against Benn, and try to fight more measured. Rahman's jab would be a key weapon. I think it would give Morrison all sorts of problems.
