Hopkins' dirty grappling style plays perfectly for Toney. Toney rapes Hopkins.

There is a good reason why Hopkins punked out of a 180 lbs catchweight fight with Toney back in 2003.

Toney would teach him what a real counter right looks like! I'd go with Toney.. Hopkins is crafty...but Toney is way way way better defensively than Hopkins.

Toney is more elusive but Hopkins is craftier all around .. Toney will try to just fight and that will mean Hopkins can take Toneys best weapons away and win a comfortable UD.

Toneys ego will work against him in this fight.

Hopkins takes it. Easily too. Hopkins is versatile and would box Toney at range using his ridiculously underrated footwork (in his prime). Toney - at no point in his career - could deal with fleet of foot particularly well.

False. What gives you that impression? Hopkins has shown much better, more efficient defense over his career than Toney, easily.

Perhaps, but a prime Hopkins was a boxer first and foremost, one with a better jab, outside game, and movement than Toney.

Perhaps, but not enough to truly hurt Hopkins.

As does Hopkins, Toney can be outboxed much easier by a mover though.

Hopkins has more variety in his overall arsenal.

I'd take Hopkins. Similar skills on the inside(edge to Toney) but Hopkins takes the outside game easily.

Toney is better defensivelly when he can lure guys to him.

When he is forced on the front foot his defense drops dramatically. Hopkins stays on the outside and uses an outside game Toney cant do ****.

In their primes at 160 I would go with Toney. It's hard b/c a lot of times at 160 we only got to see a weight drained Toney.

i remeber that everyone thought taylor and wright was going to be boring. it was far from that. but not to digress i take toney by UD and possibly knocking b-hop down along the way. at the lighter weights which was toneys prime he had pretty good pop and really fast hands.
