Is that movie really famous? Yeah, that's either Indeo or some other B action movie.

When you get results like Fullmer Ko 3 Ayala that proves they dont know what they're talking about.

This is how I see it: Tony will duck and counter this guy and then back him up. He'll rip his face to shreds, cutting him over the eyes and hampering his sight, then pounding him with hooks relentlessly body and head, further weakening him until the head dies. You know what I'm talking about Matt. We saw a textbook example of this against Angelo Dundee's Steve Gregory who came to fight also but was outgunned. After just 2 rounds, Steven was capsized at the very start of round 3, similar to the deadly assault Marvin Hagler used on Hearns.

Most ESBers here judge outcomes using one criteria-reputation; I use many because I know what to use and how to use them. No question that Ayala and Norris were the best of their division since the division was created and Tony would move comfortably into the 160 division. He's got the frame for it

Given that Ayala was only a novice when he was slung in gaol how the hell do you know he would have developed and how?

Hugely stupid question. Fact is Gene Fullmer would have slaughtered the only version of Ayala we actually know.

****, some threads are so dumb.

Fullmer batters and stops Ayala within 7 rounds..in their primes, only rougher than when Yori boy did it to Ayala past his prime.

Ayala never fought anyone as good as Fullmer, whereas Fullmer fought guys infinitely better than Ayala...Fullmer, Ayala would find out wouldn't be one of those guys his chubby ass would beat and then spit on.

Grow up, kid. You're like a dog beaten half-dead, yet continues to growl.

Tony was off how long, 15 years? Why you even throw the YB fight in there I'll never know but that alone isnt enough fuel for your argument.

I think Tony can do it. He dont need a lot of fights similar to my man Terry Norris who can get the job done and take a more experienced fighter like 5 time champion Sugar Ray leonard and then tie him into knots.

Terry showed us how it's done: you put the hurt on him to keep him in line and get some respect, then you bust him up, then knock him on his ass a few times. And if Gene is still standing then Tony comes out at worst going home with a lopsided points win just like Terry Norris.

This is getting a bit bizarre. Not saying that Ayala couldn't of reached a level, but he just didn't. Hyperthetical to to the limit!!

Gene Fullmer wins this one without question. In fact Tony Ayala couldn't ever beat any of the fighters that Gene had to face either:Tiger Jones, Basilio, Webb, Giardello, Dick Tiger,Greaves, Castellani, Pender, Fernandez, and especially Robinson.
