Tucker was a bigger and more dangerous version of Ernie Terrell.
Ali wouldn't be able to rest against Tucker and would have to work
hard against Tucker . Ali on pts in which Tucker wins his fair share
    of rounds.

Great post and great points. I think Tucker may have been a difficult opponent for Ali. Tucker was more defensive because of Tyson's punching power. With Ali, he may have been more aggressive because he wouldn't have to worry about being hurt too much. I think Ali probably would out work him to a decision win. Also, I think it's possible that Spinks may have beat Tucker via SD due to styles.

Because Tucker seemed to be more mobile and to me seemed to have a better jab and right hand and not be as stationary as Terrel

Are you saying that because that's what you really think or are you saying that because Mike Tyson beat him?

More mobile is one thing, but you said "better"? What makes you say that? Not saying you're necessary wrong, mind you, but there's not much in Tucker's record to suggest he was better than Terrell.

Ali could do what Douglas was doing but with better chin, stamina, and resolve to win.

I really don't see Spinks beating Tucker. He's lucky he caught a rusty Cooney who had slipped and wasted too many punches in that fight BC Cooney was a better fighter than Spinks if not more effective as a HW fighter when he was level headed.

Looking at Spinks record he's unproven in actual HW fights ...Holmes was injured in the 1st fight and would beat Spinks almost always if they fought including the rematch he was robbed in.

Spinks had a total of 5 HW fights ..two with Holmes and a guy named Stefan Tangstad who I just wikipedia and he looks like a scary clown with no make up...

The other besides Cooney was Tyson who we all know he had zero chance against.

Tucker too big, skilled for the unorthodox LHW Spinks.

If you ask ppl who is Tyson best win the answer almost always is Spinks......and look what I just posted? :nonono

Agree. Douglas was doing well that night and should have beaten Tucker.

Tucker would have just fought instead of hold and got knocked out or beat up.:boxing1

Have you ever laced up boxing gloves with a fractured hand ? Fighting for world championship with adrenaline flowing would have minimum effect on it , this isn't some freak accident..fighters fight with hand injuries all the time.

Had a rematch taken place Tyson would have did a number on him and adjusted to the 6'5 giant and listened to what Rooney was telling him to do the first time.

Completely unsubstantiated. Holmes didn't get in the best physical and mental shape that's all. He was caught out imo.

And we all saw what the inferior Douglas did to Tyson, imagine what a healthy Tucker would have done to him.

You do know he fractured the hand a few day's before the fight, it shattered when he landed a shot on Mike. He basically fought Mike one handed, great performance when you take in the circumstances.

I've had more fights than you've had hot dinners sunshine so show some god damn respect will ya!

I am a huge fan of Tony Tucker... but he could not beat Ali... Ali was at a different level and Tucker was never super aggressive ...

Ali would win a one-sided fight.
    It would be boring.

Ali in an 11-4 fight. Tony was talented but was not in Ali's league. Delucia tainted him a bit.
