I saw that the entire Tszyu vs Gonzales fight is up on youtube.

If there was a question as to which fight shows Tszyu in his prime, I'd say it's this one. Gonzales had never been stopped, lost only once on points to De La Hoya and was the former world champion.

Interestingly, he also said after the fight that Tszyu hit alot harder than De La Hoya. This was a title fight.

Wish I'd seen Tszyu against DLH, Mosely or Mayweather around this period. Brutal.

Tyszu's KO of Judah is still one of my favourite moments in the history of the sport.

Yeah, he was a great fighter. Just needed one more defining fight in his prime.

    Would you go near him?

To be fair to Zab, he actually manned up and faced Tszyu, whilst the likes of DLH, Mosley & Floyd didn't - now whether Zab had actually seen Kostya fight or had looked at Boxrec and saw a red mark by the name of Vince Phillips I am not sure :rofl

Give ground to him and you are dead :deal

Get in his face and fight at a fast pace and he is yours :deal

I'm not sure Tszyu would hand with a Prime De La Hoya, hell I saw Hernandez land like four left hooks in the first round alone, and then think what Vince Phillips did to him. I see DLH by KO.

how brave was ricky hatton in that fight ? he didn't give an inch , cos he knew if he did his head was coming off.
trying to think of a good analogy and all i can think of is steve irwin holding an angry australian brown that wants to sink its teeth in. doesn't quite work cos the idea there is to not let it near you, but i know what i mean:oops:

    Very......

Getting in the ring knowing he had to block loads of punches with his face to avoid spending five minutes counting stars courtesy of the right hand to the chin.

Everybody has their achilles heel. Fighters a step or two below them that just have their number, and Phillips was Kostya's. I hated seeing Kostya lose to Ricky, I still think if that fight had been held in the US KT takes it.
