so at 28 years old, he wasnt in his prime? it was his 20th fight..
and considering he only had 12 or 13 more...i would say he was in his prime...

not to mention he competition was damn near laughable...... floyd would be heads and tails above anyone he ever fought......
floyd toys with him and slaps him around for 12 rounds....

 

He fought for 6 more years after that fight! his competition was laughable! flyod wouldnt of went near Kostya tszyu, KT he tryed evreything to get a dream fight with de la hoya , nobody wanted to fight him he was p4p 5th best fighter in the world, flyod couldnt of danced his way around a fighter who pressures as much as KT does

 

That's always a tough one to call. I guess I'll go "reluctantly" (as someone said) with Floyd by decision.

Shame that one never happened... I thought at the time KT had the best chance at catching Floyd and hurting him bad enough to finish him off... something alot of us would have enjoyed watching I'm sure.

I think some of you are underestimating KTs punch speed and accuracy.
Then you add his ability to take shots, to keep up the pressure and to cut the ring.
Floyd hasn't seen someone like KT.
And KTs KO of Zab wasn't a fluke. If anything it highlights KTs ability to get the timing right. He knew what he wanted to do.... and it only took him 2 rounds to solve the problem.

 

Kostya was outboxed easy by Judah before he landed the right hand. otherwise he will keep taking punishment until he does. The difference is that Kostya wouldn't land his right. Just like Oscar can't land his left hook, just like hatton couldn't land his famous body shot, just like every who have tried to pressured him. Kostya's plodding footwork wouldn't get floyd but punches to his face. The castillo that made it close was a prime castillo and floyd was fighting with one arm that night after the 3 round.

 

yea flyod has his first fight with Castillio in which Castillio was causing mayweather loads of problems KT has the ability to take out mayweather in this 1 and your right his speed and accuracy wewre his best weapons, his onslaught on Chavez was crazy when they fought he landed 6 out of 8 punchs when KT had him in the corner

 

underestimating? Every elite fighter got good qualities but I think people are underestimating Floyd's defense, footwork, in fighting, outside fighting, ability to adapt during matches. Floyd is head and shoulders over Kostya by a mile. All Kostya got over Floyd is power, like floyd never faced power before.

 

funny how you claim people don't know boxing when you didn't even watch castillo vs Floyd I. Floyd won a close one, only bc he WAS INJURED. If Kostya depends on Floyd being injured then yea I will say he will have a good chance too.
