Honestly, I was thinking about this while doing my grocery shopping today. Could Tua have beaten all of the guys that Tyson fought in the 80's. I'm not sure that he could!
Pretty much as I see it. Granite chin, great stamina, more power, not gonna get intimidated by Tyson=bad news for Tyson. Tyson can win a decision but I'd favor Tua to stop Mike as Mike starts to fade in the later rounds.
Prime Tyson destroys Tua easy, along with all the other greats, Prime Tyson even though his reign was short was almost unbeatable, and people talking about a decision in a Tyson Tua fight are ******ed.
There is a massive list of weaker chinned fighters who Tyson never stopped. Prime Tyson UD any Tyson othet than prime I'd take Tua by Stoppage
I hope you didn't put in too much effort to think of this post. Tua had a left hook, Tyson had skills, speed, he could go to the body, he was a smart fighter, he had a hellish uppercut, and an awesome hook. Please ask the question again on who'd win? Although Tua had a puncher's chance. Bruno did shake up an undefeated Tyson.
Tua style was made for a Prime Tyson. Look at some of Tyson fights. Fighters that came at him and try to brawl got crushed. Not the fact that Prime Tyson was in great shape, very fast and the punched in combos. Many on this board just think of Tyson from Buster on. I watch the fight with Tyson vs Pinklon and the speed on Tyson was sick. Tua chin is no push over and some of the action should be great.
Tyson had many skills great timing and moved using speed and angles.....Tua has speed as well and a good chin to take what Tyson could throw at him and throw back at him. Would have been a brutal fight for both of them as i dont see either of them backing up.who would win a prime Tua Tyson ??? Well Tysons never gonna knock out Tua. The other way round if someones going to hit the deck....Maybe just maybe.... Tua may get outworked....but Tua was no slow poke in his prime and had tremendous work ethic as evidenced by the bout with Ike...but the change of angles Mike could use against the great chin of Tua who has equalality of Tyson power-wise makes it hard for me to decide who would win....so whoever gets lucky first!
your post is quite flawed. number 1, tyson got stopped after being hit repeatedly. his chin is fine. number 2 tyson hits harder then tua and tua has never fought a puncher like tyson. both men have goood chins but both men can hurt eachother. with tyson superior speed, faster combinations, equal power and both his left and right hand, better defense, he koes tua in 9 rds.
Tyson would win a UD with his variety of punches and giving Tua different angles. Tua would have a little success but it wouldn't be a close fight.
Ike hits as hard as Tyson, and Tua took everything he offered. The question is: could a prime Tyson take everything Tua offered?
Man any time I did fantasy boxing tournaments as a kid, I always made sure this one of the first round fights just to make sure I'd see it. It usually went Tua vs Tyson, Lennox Lewis vs Lou Savorese, Holyfield vs either Briggs or Golota and the rest is a big blur.
you sure about, especially when he only had 20 fights. the biggest puncher tua faced lewis and when lewis started tagging him, he went into a shell so he can definately get hurt.
Tua didn't go into a shell against LL. Watch the fight again. Tua pursued LL even thru the 12th round. What he didn't do was punch when he clearly had LL against the ropes or in the corner. That could be because of a lack of conditioning, or a fear of trading with LL. But that's not going into a shell. Incidentially, Tua DID last the distance against LL. Tyson did not. But, it wasn't a prime Tua or a prime Tyson.
