Not sure who would win but I dont think Tyson would have got in the ring with him if he could help it. Tyson was better all round (and had a hard right hand unlike Tua) but in a toe2toe slugfest Tua would have at least 50/50 chance IMO.

Tua traded with Ibeabuchi and got a bit stronger as the fight went on IMO, but he pussed out a little vs Lewis but he was not prime then. The Tua that fougt Ibeabuchi (who was bigger and tronger) would give Tyson major cause for concern I reckon

I don't know if Tua would be as willing to trade at will with someone who could match him in the power department. I think Tyson was a better boxer technically than Tua and would have a much better shot winning a decision if he made it past Tua's power punches.

Yeah Tyson had more shots but Tua was more than willing to trade with Ike, and that guy could definitely hit. He destroyed Byrd and was thought to be the next big thing. Tua wasnt scared of anyone when Lou Duva trained him and he was around 225lbs.

If you are talking bout prime Tyson vs the fat slow-footed 1-shot guy that fought Lewis I would favour Tyson for sure. But prime Tua made his name for his toughness and stamina, coming on late in a fight to KO Maskaev, Rahman (after teh bell), Izon etc
    My 2c anyway

Seeing that video reminds me of how poorly Maskaev was managed, that man took some serious punishment for no reason. Also I can't believe Ruiz survived that punch.

This Fight Would Be All About DEFENCE...Not Offence,
both men have great offense and can knock each other out...true, Tyson had faster combos and better body work
but who had the better defence?
i think Tyson would avoid most of tuas bombs and wear him down mid to late, from what i saw of Tua, he doesnt have the defensive skills of a prime Tyson
Why Dont People ever talk about Tysons greatest asset....his DEFENCE (and chin)
Larry Holmes said it best before the spinks Fight: Mike Tyson is Hard To Hit, And He Hits Very Hard

If it went full 12, i still pick Tyson because, many may not know this but Mike Tyson NEVER EVER lost a decision! (Nor Did Lennox Lewis)

tua is a nightmare opponent for tyson imo. head to head i'd have tua because i can't see tyson standing up to the pressure for long and tua has a better chin, but against a wide range of opponents tyson beats more of them. tua beats him but isn't a better fighter overall

Squire...i never actually thought of it like that!
true Tyson couldnt take pressure...but his losses were always against bigger men who popped him with jabs and moved around and frustrated him
Tua wouldnt do any of that, if there was one thing Mike Tyson LOVED it was a brawl, just watch the Ruddock fights, where he got clocked continuously but kept coming forward even smiling at times
Even the commentator Freddie Pacheiro comments on tysons great heart (something which is underrated because of the ear bite incident)

prime tyson with cus demolished tua within 3...to even say tua has a chance against prime tyson-cus is a slap in the face
