Thats how I see it, Tyson has more tools against other fighters but when these 2 guys fight each other, I think prime Tua would have a very good chance. Their chins are about the same I reckon, Tysons has been tested more than Tuas but I dont thi Tyson or his people would have wanted to fight prime Tua.

Tysons achieved a lot more than Tua of course and is a greater fighter but these 2 guys H2H Tua can fug Tyson up IMO. Tua can slip and block punches pretty well when he gets inside and the big point is that prime Tua had better stamina than Tyson did.
The Tua that fought Lewis was 20lbs past his prime and a different fighter to the Lou Duva version.

Tua was like 190lbs or something and 18yrs old when he fought Felix Savon, he was a totally green kid, there is no decent boxing competition in NZ to speak of, whereas the older Savon had been groomed by Teofilo Stevenson etc, doesnt really say much that fight.
Tua vs Ibeabuchi tells pretty much all you need to know about prime Tuas chin and stamina

Tua was not the same fighter when he fought Rahman in the rematch. And the knockdown don't mean anything cause it was after the bell so reality Tua still hasn't been knockdown in his career. And why people mention Savon knockdown Tua in the amatuers????? FOR GOD SAKE THE AMATUERS ARE DIFFERENT THEN THE PROS!!!!! IF THE AMATUERS ARE LIKE THE SAME AS THE PROS THEN LET THOSE FIGHTER THAT ARE IN THE AMATUERS FIGHT IN THE PROS DEBUT FOR THE WORLD TITLE.

I post a thread about Tyson vs Tua but about in 1996 but with a prime Tyson? Well even though i'm a Tua fan a prime Tyson would win by decision cause he's a better boxer and a bit faster. But Tua does have a chance cause many Tyson fans won't mention this but Tyson has a history with stamina going in the late rounds. Yes Tyson have won by decisions but that don't mean nothing. Oscar has won by decisions but he's still know as stamina problems.

Tyson was a much more refined version of Tua. With his superior handspeed and combination punching ability you would have to give him the edge. With this said Tua would keep it fairly competitive, he has a few factors that match up well for anyone against Tyson; superior stamina, freakish punch resistance and a strong a will to win. I also think Tua would frustrate Tyson with his work on the inside, a place where Tyson gets lazy at times and doesn't press his advantages. The Tyson that fought Razor Ruddock was very susceptible to uppercuts, Tua (at his best) would give this version hell in my opinion.

OK AS FOR WHO THE BETTER FIGHTER IS,THIS IS A NO BRAINER ILL GO WITH TYSON,BUT AS FAR AS HOW THEY MATCHUP THIS MIGHT BE A TUFF ONE TO PICK ,CUZ TYSONS BETTER SKILLS AND TALENT MIGHT GO OUT THE WINDOW SINCE WE KNOW THESE GUYS ARE JUST GONNA COME FORWARD LIKE GUNSLINGERS,TUA MIGHT HAVE HAD THE BETTER CHIN SO HE JUST MIGHT PULL OUT AN UPSET,BUT WITH THAT BEING SAID I HAVE TO GO WITH THE BETTER FIGHTER WHICH IS MIKE MAYBE 7TH ROUND :huh

Another point to mention is the fact that most of tysons early opponents were beaten mentally before they even got into the ring due to tysons ferocious intimidating presence and brutal knockout history. Would Tua fall victim to that? I doubt that. In fact I think it would play with young Tyson's confidence knowing that he would be in there with a guy who could match him in knockout power.
