Tua had cement in his shoes. Tyson had great footwork, extremely fast and agile. I get what you're saying, 'styles make fights', but Tyson did everything Tua could do except better, and he could do much, much more. Tua stopped progressing early in his career, most likely ate his way out of a championship, and I am a Tua fan...
So your stance is that only great fighters can beat great fighters? That's just not the case. There's tons of examples of fighters losing to worse fighters because they have a certain skill or attribute that can capitalize on a weakness of the better fighter Tua is an extremely limited fighter. Anyone decent that can box and move a bit would probably beat him. But, if you take the time to actually look at what attributes that different fighters bring, sometimes it's not out of the question to suggest that a lesser fighter can take a win over a greater fighter.
Douglas established his height and a strong jab and good footwork and beat tyson to the punch....Tua has NOTHING in common with Douglas. Holyfield simply beat Tyson based on conditioning and he recently admitted this himself. Also once again Tua fights NOTHING like Holyfeild He may hit harder, but it will take more than just a hard punch to Beat Iron Mike Tyson. Tyson would hit Tua with punches Tuas never even heard of. Tyson could take Tuas punch and a Prime Tyson punches in bunches.....can Tua take 4-5-6 Tyson power punch combinations? once again...whats Tua got that Tyson aint seen before? Tysons the faster puncher and has the better combinations, he would constantly beat Tua to the punch This would one of Tysons easiest fights, its true he had problems with taller fighters who had good movement and good footwork, what would Tyson do to a fat stump who stands right in front of him? A post prime Tyson took Ruddocks best and didnt flinch. An old Tyson fought more impressively against Lewis than a prime Tua did. Thats a fact. Yes Tua was standing at the end of the 12, but...how many rounds did he win? and who was on the backfoot throughout the whole fight.
LOL! I will leave you to wrestle this one out then???? Again not a Tyson fan but he could both box and move....the fights you mentioned were in 89 and beyond...come back a couple of years to 86-88..I doubt Tua lasts 5...
That's true. The thing that Tua has that's better than Tyson is the chin. Tua can take more punishment. When you have two guys that like to bang clashing, the better chin has the advantage. I have no problem picking Tyson. In fact I can see it being very likely. I don't see Tyson stopping Tua though, but I can see Tua stopping Tyson.
Tuas chin is good, no doubt put him in there with Ruddock, Douglas, Holyfield and see what happens. We all know he ran from Lennox all night long while Tyson stood there and traded with Lennox (or tried to)
Tua couldn't run from Lennox if he wanted too. Tua only moves one way...foward. Lennox boxed circles around him.
Moving forward against a guy better than you is suicide frazier only knew one way as well,he looked impressive against Ali but what happened against Foreman? Tyson would be Tuas Foreman, not in terms of size, but in terms of skill Nobody beat Tyson going forwards, you could say the same for Tua, so its a tie break i give it to the guy with better skills. Having a concrrete Chin doesnt necessarily win you fights
I disagree. You had Holy the boxer like Holy vs Foreman but he also had underrated power when he'd go toe to toe. He did drop a much bigger Riddick Bowe in his prime. The Douglas that beat Tyson easily outboxes Tua. Tua had his left hook but to compare to Tyson in his prime there is no comparison. Tyson by tko. He lands 3,4 shots for everyone of tuas and gets slowed down by Tysons body attack. Tysons hook gets their first followed by his fight ending straight right and as tua gets wobbled is finished with another left hook, left uppercut and another right hand. Tyson too fast and better combination puncher than tua. He got beat by Chris Byrd man; Tyson from the 80s destroys tua and I like the tuaman but he gets outclassed bigtime.
come on..rahman was doing well in the first fight and finnished well in their second bout. I remember when kevin barry was on King's case about a tua v tyson fight after the seldon fight.
A post prison Tyson would be a more interesting fight against Tua because Tuas chances increase. But were basing that on a loss to Holyfield. And Holyfield is one of the ATGs
Watch Tyson vs Ruddock 1 & 2.... Also, forget which fight but I distinctly remember Tua getting canned on his ass as the bell rang in the 12th round, in his prime by a lesser fighter. The best chin I ever saw in the HW division, at least since the late 80's, was prime Mercer...Tyson had a much better chin than given credit...
As i said before Put Tua in with Ruddock, Douglas and Holyfield and see what happens. And put TODAYS Tua (Same as an old Tyson) in with Lennox from 2000 and see what happens?
