Pretty much how I see it,Shommel. Hagler would definitely know that he'd been in with a tough and skillful fighter.

I reckon the Turpin of the first Robinson fight would be a tough proposition for the Marvelous one,Mr Butt. Still see Marvin winning though.

Hagler IS NOT the greatest MW who ever lived, NOR is his period of MWs,

where as Turpin's period IS, and not only that but the greatest period in Boxing over all - 30s, 40s and much of the 50s...

this fight IS NOT a given for Hagler and I expect Randolph could beat him one in three, though it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was the other way round.

the thing is and this is only an opinion , the Turpin of the first Robinson fight it may be but Hagler will fight his own fight not Robinson's so its a different proposition for Turpin. Turpin's fight against George Angelo and his world tittle fight against Olson might hold the key for my opinion to stand up.Hagler's defence was not bad which would be a good start for my opinion as hagler could not just walk through Turpin's punches. but a counter attack from Hagler would crowd and push Turpin back to the ropes where Turpin seemed to be a far less effective fighter, and some thought even changed his attitude to a negative one with the ropes at his back. and although he battled bravely against Olson and went the distance Hagler is a different ball game to Olson so i perhaps surprisingly to some go for a TKO win late for Hagler
