no question, tyson destroys dempsey within the first 30 seconds of rd 1. dempsey would have thought satan had made his way to town . reason why, tyson was pissed that he had to travel back so far in time that nobody wouldve known his future accomplishments.

With a standing eight count and a modern day calling of the rules, I favor Tyson by TKO - 4.

With leeway by way of the rules, I favor Dempsey by TKO - 2.

Anyone who gives Dempsey any semblance of a chance against Tyson should never post again.

Thinking about it realistically, I figure Tyson must destroy Dempsey. Dempsey wouldn't be a heavyweight today, he'd be a kickass light-heavy or a cruiserweight legend. Then though, his style was more suited to fighting taller fighters I feel. Tyson was perfection, so it's hard to give Dempsey much more than a puncher's chance, which he'd certainly have.

That's just a stupid thing to say. Dempsey was so good I would give less than a handful of HW's more than a 50/50 shot against him an none a 100/0 shot. To say it wouldn't be possible for Dempsey to win is ridiculous.

I'd pick Tyson if they were time-machined togehter; less confidently, I'd go with Jack if they came along at the same time.

Really, anyone who does not give Dempsey much of a chance is crazy!

Absolutely anything could happen. Ooooo Tyson's big shoulders, muscles and nice film - that's all it comes down too.

    Let's be honest 'ere laddies.

But it's true. Dempsey drew the color line. He would have avoided Tyson using the race excuse.

A true champion fights all comers. Dempsey fought a lot of inferior competition, including barnstorming against local yahoos with no experience.

That's why Tyson ducked Riddick Bowe and an ancient George Foreman. No heart. At least he finally relented to let Lennox Lewis beat him silly, but only, by his own admission, because he needed the money.

Tyson did not duck Foreman and Bowe(Although Bowe told me personally in the gym he did, bowe also told me tyson in his prime he thinks beats evander)......Tyson went to jail for 4 years cause of ****. If not for that, I am sure Tyson fights at least ONE of these two 1992-1994. Btw Tyson would have destroyed Ancient George Foreman if this fight came off in 1991.

Tyson during his 1980s title reign DUCKED NO ONE. he not only unified every major belt in a one year period, he dominated top contenders and alpha champions like never before....tyson fought the best heavyweights out there 1986-1990 at least everyone willing to get in the ring with him....Dempsey on the otherhand ducked Harry Wills and Harry Greb during his title reign. the two best heavyweights of that era next to dempsey. thats unacceptable.

Oh no, no perish the thought! Tyson was washed up at 23 anyways, you can't hold him responsible for the fact he either dodged or got slaughtered by the best heavyweights of the 90s. Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, Foreman, Tua, Morrison - well, there's always Buster Mathis and Alex Stewart.

So Dempsey refusing to meet black fighters in the ring reflects on Tyson? You want to walk us through the "logic" on that one?
