Tysons strengh was his boxing skills, he had speed, timing was fantastic. His style takes lots of discipline though. Don King destroyed him.
30% skill, 70% animal aggression. While the collar was on Tyson was a very special specimen indeed, but once the collar got taken off he became nothing more then ordinary. Tyson was a fast starter but he mentally fatigued in long contests and would submit to tougher opponents. Tyson's skill in the ring was in fact very impressive, his physical talent alone was tremendous except it all went for naught when he lost his own battle of wills.
Tyson is not and will never be overrated in my opinion. A 19 year old truck with speed and quickness since unmatched in the heavyweight division, knocking out men twice his size in one round, is a phenomenal feat any which way you look at it. In his prime he was a specimen, a force and a physical marvel that borderlined on superhero. Yes, you can critique the level of competition he beat, yes you can critique his mental instability, but you can never critique the uncanny force that this man was.
He was a super boxer, since his youth he used roids and he will die at the age of 55 with a heart attack.
