Yeah because Sanders knocked out some real winners. Be real, the only name on Sanders' resume is Wlad.
The only fighter of note he ever knocked out was Wlad, the same Wlad that many consider as having a very weak or glass chin. Sanders couldn't even knockout Rahman a few years earlier, who many consider as having having weak chin as well.
This may not be a popular view, but I think Vitali might win this thing. People forget that a prime Tyson had a lot of trouble with tall fighters like James "Bonecrusher" Smith and Tony Tucker - both of whom are not the fighters Vitali is. Tyson could get Vitali early IF he's able to get the right shot in. But if Vitali is able to weather the early storm, it most likely turns into a beatdown for Klistschko in the later rounds, somewhat like the Douglas fight. Vitali has at least as good a chin as Smith and Tucker - I think he weathers that early storm.
If he had so much trouble with these big guys, why did he not only dominate the fight by forcing them to fight out of their comfort zone, and basically to survive, and completely white wash these guys on the scorecards? And Tucker is smoother and more athletic than Vitali. He probably doesn't hit as hard, but even that's debatable, and his chin is excellent. Still........Tyson white washed him on the scorecards twice. So this myth of Tyson struggling with big men is exactly that, a myth. It is very hard to see Vitali knocking Tyson out because he's too slow, and it's very doubtful that he'll win a decision because Tyson will outwork him and force him to fight out of his comfort zone on the inside where Klitschko will have to resort to a lot of holding. I'd say Klitschko's chin is good enough to allow him to survive, but Tyson wins this fight by a clear cut decision. And to say that Tyson "weather's the storm" is saying that Tyson was only effective for the first few rounds when the reality is that a Prime Tyson worked throughly for 12 rounds and still maintained his defense. And even if Tyson did begin to tire, you think Vitali would be getting stronger despite taking such punishment on the inside, especially to the body? And to compare Vitali to Douglas makes no sense to me because Vitali doesn't have the athletic ability or speed to get down as low as Buster did to effectively deliver uppercuts that nulified Tyson's defense.
Tucker was competitive but he only won 4 rds, Smith lost just every rd. As far as vitali being better than Tucker may I ask, besides losing to a shot Lewis what has he done in his career?
Exactly people ignore the fact, that these guys were up on thier toes moving with great footwork, and act like Vitali can do this. Vitali along with Ike is one of the most overrated HWs ever.
The guy claiming you dont have no proof, is the same one saying Sanders has one of the biggest one shot power in the history heavyweight boxing, based off his knockout win over guy with a proven weak chin. The same Sanders that couldn't even knockout Rahman, whose chin has been viewed as glass for many years now.
Tyson on the cards. Vitali has a very solid chin, so that possibly gets him to the final bell. On the other hand he spends a lot of time with his mouth open breathing, and Tyson can possibly take his jaw off when he does. Either way I don't see Vitali landing so much on the bobbing and weaving Tyson.
