Before three strikes me as a bit optimistic, but I'd be pretty confident Tyson in peak form gets the KO. Or it may go more like the Ruddock fights.

Early day's to a degree yet for Joshua but at the moment I see a gruelling Tyson /Ruddock style fight with Tyson on points .

Joshua could win if he had OPTIMAL sparring partners available ,like Tua, Povetkin, Mercer...etc....

He would gauge Tyson far better,Joshua hasn't been the best at picking sparring partners for fights*( his one major flaw so far ) which really shows how good he is if he gets proper rounds in. Joshua isn't used to fighting guys under 6'4 let alone 5'9 / 5'10 ones .

Tyson could win because we know what he is about.

The actual match could favor Joshua if he fights smart as M.Tyson was lazy in the clinch and Joshua is an inside fighter himself and all around has more options to go to at 6'6 .

    Prime M.Tyson has Never defeated a 230 plus pounder of note. Joshua is 240 / 250 .

This SIGNIFICANLY moves the goal post and SHOULD tell you its an intriguing fight ,Mike has never faced a long range and short range power puncher which is Joshua. Other then Lewis well past his best days so we cant count that.

Prime Tysons best Win which is closest to a Joshua TYPE fight is Tony Tucker at 6'5 220 when Tyson fought him .

We can use Bruno who was 6'2/6'3 and ranged 230'/240's as well ,lets also remember Bruno stunned him.

Joshua's best Tyson LIKE fight is Povetkin .

Take these two fights who actually wins ?

Its hard to say,Joshua will attack him ,but AJ's probably 2/3 fights away from being as sharp as he needs to be,I think miller fight will show us,bc that's a in your face fighter ,we'll see what Aj hits him with and what combos he puts on him.

I would SLIGHTLY favor Tyson but really ,its another who would come out with what type fight .

Anyone claiming its an easy fight for either doesn't actually watch these guys..they will be regarded as some of the toughest to defeat in boxing history ,that's a fact. .

I'm more or less 50-50 on this one. Tyson probably hurts, or at least rocks, AJ early, but Joshua has shown real resilience and could well hold on to grind down Mike late.

Bruno had perhaps even greater power than AJ, but I think AJ is better in every other aspect. Tyson could well KO Joshua too, but I think he'd have a far more difficult time than against Bruno.

Tyson was also stunned and briefly had to gain his wits by an uppercut which is Joshuas best punch.

Yes we can use Bruno but we can also use where Joshua would capitalize where Bruno didn't.

Bruno wasn't a combo puncher much, he threw mainly a jab and right hands while slowly walking in on an opponent. Joshua is entirely different with explosive combos and very underated boxing IQ of knowing how to back away and close distance extremely fast with fast feet ,always in punching range while dictating pace of the fight.

If im being honest I would use the Bruno fight just as much for and against Tyson. When you have a fight that shows someone has been rattled and in this case its to a punch Joshua throws best.

That's why im sticking with a Rooney Tyson, one that probably doesn't get hit by that shot or/is prepared for it.

You can also use povetkin against Joshua but I covered why he struggled there ( sparring partners) he wasn't hurt but rocked backward in round one...lost a few rounds but ended it when he wanted to end it.

Difficult in juggling this one, Tyson slows down after midway and would he be able to win a UD with Joshua ? Joshua isn't going to hold and clinch to survive like the other HW's of his era. He will try and finish Tyson if he's down on scorecards.

Tyson needs a early stoppage ,I could see maybe round 5 / 6. I think he needs to .

I believe Joshua will still become the hardest boxer to defeat, hes well on his way.

But going by my own criteria ,it looks like a Tyson win I would say 6th round ,this isn't an easy fight at all.

It depends where you have Tyson ? I have him as a top 3 head to head to get by .

I don't think people really realize that a 6'6 240 plus guy with skill and ring IQ isn't going to be easy at all when hes also carrying 95 % K.O record and can kill you on the inside even with 82 inch reach .

Joshua is also the best finisher of this era ( people probably THINK its Wilder ) !

Oh I agree, AJ has proven he can come back after being floored Bruno never did. Aj isn't the finished article ,but he is already better than Frank.

I broadly agree with all your points.
Wilder is a very sloppy finisher, imo one of the worst around.

The rose colored Kool aid in this thread is real.........

Tyson until the Douglas hick up walked thru everything with barely breaking a sweat, he dominated his opposition to the extent that all the idiots today call them bums because he made it look that easy........the vast majority of those fighters would be major players in the division today.

AJ went life and death with a grandpa, even hit the deck, got wobbled against subpar ham and eggers.....vs Tyson got hit serious 3=4 times in his entire career until Douglas, when he faced a grandpa, who had a lot more in the tank as proven by hos later career, he dispatched him in un competive fashion.

Again, AJ does not have the Ring IQ to deal with Tyson, period.

This is a fight between a talented but limited Big guy vs a prodigy that comes only around every half a century.

Ali and Tyson are the most natural gifted fighters the modern Heavyweight scene has ever seen.
