i have trouble with this , could ali actually tame tyson ? i dont know , does ali frustrate tyson and take him out of his game by actually making tyson box. because the 88-89 version of tyson seemed like he came out of his corner with wreckless hate. or does ali get caught with some sort of homicidical blow that takes him to a land that he has never been before. yall convince me which way to vote because im not sure at all about this one.

Tyson starts out well, Ali adjusts and Tyson becomes a one note swinger late in the fight as Ali runs away with a wide decision.

Tyson comes out fiery, but Ali eventually adjusts. He takes Iron Mike's shots and taunts him. All the while slipping and countering. Ali by late TKO.

If anyone would take out Ali early it would be Tyson. But this is more or less the only chance I would give him to win. Ali by decision.

I'm going to enjoy reading how Tyson will get frustrated and get ko'd or dq'd.
It will be good for a laugh.

Everyone assumes tyson needs to win early simply because tyson fights were short and we never got to see his stamina. How foolish, he was in excellent condition. People question his heart. What a joke he poured so much heart and fighting spirit into the fight he overpowered everyone with his intensity and focus. Post prime tyson, after cus d'amato died (literally his father) he had no one to look over him. You can take the a boy out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the boy. He was soon flaking out on training and taking drugs. no **** his performance was effected, fights he did after that were a completely different person. Then he started biting ears out of frustration.

Ali himself said tyson would have beaten him. Very firmly on the arsenio hall show. Granted tyson acted appropriatly and told ali he was underestimating himself, but ali was then very sober as if he werent being taken seriously. He asked arsenio 'are you colored'? meaning if you're black, tyson would have won.

It's true that many untrue or exagerrated clichés are regularly spouted about Tyson. But it is also true that he slowed down considerably after about 5 rounds. His KO rate after the fifth is not impressive at all.

No matter what Ali said, I don't believe he thinks anyone would have beaten him in his prime. It was probably courtesy. To Hauser, for example, he said he would have beaten Tyson. Patterson, Rooney, Holmes and others also thought so.

In his prime (through the Spinks fight) Tyson went past 5 rounds 8 times in 34 fights with 3 ko's . Through the Second Ruddock fight before he went to prison. He had a tottal of 11 fights that went past 5 rounds 4 by ko.
he is 10-1 (4) in bouts that went past 5 rounds that took place before prison and 40-1 within that time frame. He has a winning % of 97 over all and 91% in bouts 5 rounds or more. Fadeing dose not seem very likely for Tyson against Ali or anyone else.

Yes I once asked Rooney who would give Tyson the most trouble, and his answer was Ali. His movement and quickness would offset Tysons speed. In my opinion Tyson would beat prime Ali. He was just as quick and Ali would mix it up a little. Ali never faced anyone with the speed and power of a prime Tyson.

Prime Ali loses by knockout. Left hook, good-night. Past-prime Ali loses by decision.
