    who would have won?

    me pick Tyson
terrible matchup for Ali, Tyson is practically a bigger, stronger, faster Frazier. And we all know Frazier did a number in ali

Ali on points... the footspeed & jab would be a complete nightmare for Mike IMO.

Tyson wins the event after Ali takes a sweeping unanimous decision, and escapes from the ring as soon as possible whilst mike threatens to stomp on fraziers balls, who happens to be sitting ringside

OK, I'll post on this topic one last time.

Ali wins this one easily because:

    1. Granite chin.

    2. Mike is meantally weak, Ali was the master of head games.

    3. Ali was quick enough to maintain distance and frustrate Mike with the jab and occassional flurries.

    Summary:

Rounds 1 and 2, Mike comes out like a bull, but can't catch Ali with anything huge.

Rounds 3-5, Ali taunts Mike and owns the rounds with lateral movement and the jab.

Round 6: Mike comes out angry, cuts off the ring, lands meaningful combination that drops Ali. Ali beats the count and returns a flurry of his own. The crowd is on their feet.

Round 7: Realizing Ali can take his best shots and return big flurries, Mike loses more and more confidence each round. Ali comes out hot, throwing flurries and talking ****.

Round 8: Mike opens up offensively, in desperation. Ali catches him open and drops Mike with a Brian London-esqe barrage of punches and the ref waves it off.

    Ali TKO 8 Tyson

amazing if that kould actually happen but a prime mike wuldnt fall victom to mind games. if mike drop ali or anybody for that matter I doubt they get up much less get up with all theresenses and throw flurries back. I think if they fought ten times 6-4 ali maybe even. just depends.

Ali late stoppage. Mike would blow his load (no manilow) Ali would jab his head off and absorb Tyson's best, then stop him late imo.

It would be a replay of the Lennox/Tyson fight.

In that fight, Mike was so past it that he didn't have the speed and mobility to get inside and bust Lennox up anymore. He was just too old and out of shape.

Effectively, it would have been that same way with Ali. The difference in mobility would have been gigantic.

Mike was quick with head movement, at getting inside and bobbing and weaving through punches.

Ali was quick enough to keep you out of position, and while you were trying to catch up, he was jabbing you in the face....then moving again.

Just like with Lennox, Mike gets frustrated when the opponent is not intimidated and once he realizes that he isn't going to walk through a guy... Mike starts to struggle.

At that point, Ali takes over the fight.

As for surviving the knockdown and coming back swinging, Ali had that kind of chin, heart and ability, as you can see here after Frazier drops him with his legendary left hook:

    :good

    This is Mike Tyson 101.

I don't know how anyone who has studied Mike doesn't know this. Good post. Thanks for putting it up.

That is exactly why someone like Ali, with his confidence, speed, ability.. would be a nightmare for Mike.
