Who would have won and why. Personnally i think lewis had all the attributes to beat mike, height, reach and power. Lewis by KO for me but he could have been caught al la McCall and Rahman So basically it could go either way Both can be KOed as we have seen
Lewis should be favoured. 1 - He is absolutely excellent at using his height against his opponent, and Mike struggles against tall stylists as a rule. Lewis is exactly that. 2 - Lewis is very good at turning mid-range - Tyson's best range - to close range. And he is a world class smotherer. 3 - The uppercut. Tyson was able to turn back the clock for 3 minutes against Lewis and Lennox put a masterclass on from the backfoot. He clatters Tyson with two uppercuts and the heart goes out of Mike a bit. But Tyson is a fast and hard puncher - if he catches Lewis absolutely clean, KO[insert round]. So it would be a great, great fight.
100x the fight lennox had with an over the hill Iron Mike but he still finished him and you cant change your chin, not ever.
lewis couldnt change his chin either...i reckon tyson clips lennox early in this one...there may have been bigger punchers in the hw than tyson, but was there ever a more single minded, ferocious FINISHER....??...if he sees one *****, one wobble in ll, he is gonna be on him like a rash...plus, the 'prime' tyson had fantastic head movement, was elusive and loved to work the body/...lewis has a lot of body to work and has been stopped by lesser fighters while in his prime....id say 2, maybe 3 times out of ten, lewis could last the distance and win on points against a PRIME tyson...rest of the time its bye bye lennox, inside 4 or 5 rounds...
After eating about 150 power punches. If anything it proved how amazing Mike's chin was, not the opposite.
he was brave but lewis would have got to him at any stage in his career one of mikes bombs would have killed lewis to its a mans game i honestly think its a case of who lands first but i think it would be lewis
hey am with the choir here..i cant think of another hw who has/had such an explosive 'on top' arsenal....too many people remember tyson as a scowling, plodding one punch seeking monster....when i think tyson, i think of a constantly moving, elusive hw with fantastic footwork, a vastly underated repeating decimal type jab and the fastest most hurtful hands of his time.....he was a package..but his prime was maybe only a year, tops....if you wanna see tyson at his best, look for him giving tyrell biggs a sustained, brutal beating, just cos he could...and wanted too....it was like a cat playing with a mouse and had an elegant brutality up there with some of ali's intricate beatdowns vs paterson and williams for instance..... tyson regulalry beat men much bigger than him and when i think how lewis struggled with the likes of ray mercer, i can only see one ending here unless ll was 150 % focussed the whole 12 rounds..cos one slip and a barrage of bad intentions punches cuts him down....tyson really only let one guy of his hook...and buster douglas stole his heart that night..but that wasnt a much better tyson than the one who ultimately fought lewis truth be told...he was well into the stages of his early decline by then....
Lewis was only ever lazy when he thuoght he couldnt get hurt. I think he prepares for Tyson like no other and knocks him out in 8 -10. Tyson cant compete with long reach and relative hand speed
Tyson would have recked him. Bruno had Lewis out before he made the mistake of putting his left hand down and pow. A hurt fighter is a very dangerous fighter. I remember that like it was yesterday. Look what Tyson did to Bruno the first time and then he had him almost crying in fear the second fight.
