I remember the time i picked Shavers to KO Dempsey (mostly for fun LOL), we were in danger of losing four or five posters to overnight heart attacks. I'd give him more chance of taking out Dempsey than Tyson by quite some ways.

I'd favor Tyson in all of these fights.

He beat Snipes, Berbick, Smith, and M. Spinks. Only Smith managed to see the final bell. Had these guys been younger I don't think it would have made much of a difference in the outcomes. I actually think a younger more aggressive Smith would have been stopped. M. Spinks at his very best might win a few rounds but I think he still gets stopped.

Witherspoon has a decent chance in upsetting Tyson but he would have to be at his very best... maybe even better than we ever saw him if that is possible. Norton has the ability as well but I doubt he would see the final bell. I actually give Cooney a fair chance. Cooney would be brawling from the opening bell and this would be his only chance of victory, I don't think it would work though. Shavers doesn't last long. Cobb takes a nasty beating before getting stopped due to cuts, blood, and excessive swelling.

Leon and Evangelista don't stand a chance. Ocasio does fair before getting stopped.

With that said I pick Holmes in a prime vs. prime fight vs. Tyson.

Shavers beating Tyson is a joke.
To beat Tyson you needed to take him in deep waters, tire him out, dish out enough punishment yourself and drown him.

Even if Shavers lands that big punch, Shavers is a **** finisher. Tyson showed he can recover very well from one big punch (Tucker, Smith, Bruno) and he can battle backwards and forwards with big punchers (Ruddock 1+2)

Has Shavers shown he can take a punch or battle with a puncher?

Tyson vs Shavers ends very quickly. other than a big right hand, Shavers has got NOTHING on Tyson. Not much physical advantage or any style advantage.

Tyson Kos Shaver early everytime they fight. Even the Douglas Tyson kos Shavers quickly.

Assuming he starts with Shavers in 78: Tyson builds a nice KO streak totally dominating everyone then shocks the boxing world by getting KO-ed by Witherspoon in 83.

That's possible as by that time Tyson already would split with his team, begins to decline and goes into the fight undertrained and unfocused;)

    Agreed,

Tyson's style, defense, chin, handspeed and power would make this a short night. The only chance Earnie has is the unlikely prospect of a lucky shot, and I never place my bets based on that alone.

Tyson absolutely rocked Holyfield with the first punch he threw in their fight in 96. Holyfield has a granite chin and superior recuperative powers
Put Shavers in there with Tyson and tell me how long he lasts.

Shavers had a lot of heart but Tyson wouldn't even give him a chance to recover. He'd never survive being hurt the first time, and that would be as soon as Tyson lands-the first round. And Shavers is so deluded. "Derp derp I'd say I beat about ten Holyfields."

shavers was actually quite good. i think people need to give him some credit. yes, tyson should be favourite. but with a guy like shavers in there anything can happen.
these two are going to come straight at each other and both have the punch to end the fight any second
