Don't get me wrong, I think wlad will forge a career putting him up there with the best of them. But stylistically he's got no way of surviving this fight with tyson. Tyson is faster, stronger and more powerful than haye. His head movement is also better, circa 86. Tyson all night long.
Wlad knocks Tyson out perhaps in the middle rounds, when Eddie Chambers, Sam Peter, David Haye, Tony Thompson, Ruslan Chagaev, and Sultan Ibragimov all went deep into the fight with him. Right...makes sense.
Tyson's not going to fight out there, he's going to go inside where Wlad can't throw a punch and he throws bombs in bunches. I'm sorry, near every time Wlad get's hit he looks seriously worried and freezes. There's no way Wlad would deal with the pressure Tyson brings after he's caught him.
Wlad has no inside game, mike tyson bobbin and weavin inside stops wlad early, wlad is actually tailormade for prime mike tyson, post prison mike im not sure I guess wlad could win that one.
If you knew anything about boxing you would know styles make fights. Tyson would not run like a *****, or avoid fighting like the men you listed did. Tyson would do the only thing he knows how to do....rush in like a one dimensional club fighter. He would run into punches, gas out and get KO'd just like he did every time he fought a great fighter.
One thing that a prime Tyson never did was 'rush in like a one dimensional club fighter'. He wasn't like that at all. Have you seen him fight? He didn't rush in. He worked his way in, bobbing and weaving, hooking, he had great footwork and a superb inside game. What you said makes me doubt that you have ever seen him fight, and sort of makes your opinion a bit less credible.
The Tyson that killed spinks still had the stuff and the "aura" to win against Wlad. I always thought that that crouching bob and weave peekaboo style was specifically crafted for a smaller man to fight against a taller man. when tyson gets low and moved his head that big slow pawing jab from Wlad would be seen and countered. you have to remember the pschological effect that tyson had on the division before he lost for the first time. thinking back to those days and how timidly Wlad fought against Haye, I just can't see him having the balls to go at Tyson. Tyson had the chin, movement and inside skills to defeat Wladimir. Not to mention the mentality. Too bad it only lasted a fight or 2 for Mike. Mike did seem to take the odd right hand early and that could be a problem, but a timid Wlad would only be punching at the target, not through it.
Yes he worked his way in very well, that being said he was very one dimensional. Lewis as well as many experts called him one dimensional so I guess they don't not know as much about boxing as you do.
lol the problem is Tyson always fought taller fighters and destroyed most of them with ease, rewatch the tapes son
atsch He proved he could deal with a negative, sloppy, David Haye whom was one the backfoot and not capitalizing at all on his head movement. Tyson TKO3.
Lewis's word isn't necessarily the most credible in these circumstances, I'm sure you can understand that, considering he was a big rival of Tyson's throughout their respective careers. Just like you would when Lewis critiques Riddick Bowe, you take these kind of things with a pinch of salt. Anyway, all I was doing was correcting you on what you said about Tyson, which was incorrect. You compared him to a club fighter, which is quite ridiculous. Surely you can understand my correcting you when you come out and say something as ludicrous as that?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Wlad fan BUT You can't overlook the fact that Prime Tyson was great at getting inside, he had a very underrated jab, he used to bob & weave very well, and got power enough to take Wlad out with a single shot. He would have not runned from Wlad, while keeping his hands down, Prime Tyson would definitely get inside and land some terrible power punches in Wlads chin.
