Willie Pep,right after Ray Robinson, was the best little man I ever saw...He was the best featherweight I ever saw also..Mayweather P4P CANNOT be compared in the same breath as Pep,for these reasons..Willie Pep had 242 bouts, winning almost every one in his prime...In 1947 ,Pep almost died in a terrible plane crash...He somehow survived, and continued boxing without losing fights, but he was never the fighter...I saw Pep before the plane crash at his peak in 1943,licking lightweight contender Allie Stolz, and he was amazingly fast and clever...Mayweather, is a great safety first boxer ,with about 45 bouts against whoever he thinks is safe for him...Does anyone think that if Mayweather fought about 180 more fights against the very top and best fighters, today , he would be virtually undefeated, as Willie Pep was then?. Never say I...The cream rises to the top I believe...Pep P4P has a much greater career,in avery very competitive era...
