im not saying i couldnt see Williams winning this fight, but what i am saying is...
DAMN uppercutko... lol... to even CITE the mayorga fight as referance to a prime for prime matchup with vargas is showing NO knowledge of the fighter or his history... lol.

If there is anyone MORE past it then mayorga, it was vargas....

Don't expect anything reasonable be in a uppercutko post. Guy is a ****ing moron.

Good call Kirk, like you i've been a long time Fernando Vargas fan. I've been a fan since i saw him fight Howard Clarke on the undercard of Lewis Holyfield in 99. Fernando was a fantastic fighter, tremedous talent, both amateur and pro. He was a highly decorated amateur with an amateur record consisting of 100 - 5. He also won numerous titles, he's the youngest ever fighter to win the US championship. Dougie Fischer labelled him a future ATG when he was moving through the ranks at a fast pace. When he beat Ike Quartey i truly though he was going to beat Trinidad, i really thought he would. All though he put up a great performance in defeat i knew that wasn't the real Vargas, and that's not taking any thing away from Felix in anyway, that's just my opinion. I just thought that night his movement wasn't there, his combinations weren't flowing like they were in previous fights, he was so static and open, i just thought something was seriously missing. Anyway respect to Vargas, he's missed and of course prime Vargas handles Williams
