Prime Vargas Mosley Trinidad and DLH all destroy Margarito. This discussion has to stop. I mean...Why don't we just throw in that Margarito beats Duran and SRL as well....According to a couple of you numskulls ANYONE with a decent chin and high punch output can beat any man on earth regardless of any variables going against them, No matter how out gunned and out skilled that fighter is...If hes got a chin and high punch out put....HE WINS!!!!!!!!!
Hey...if you think the matchup is ridiculous, then why jump in and participate? If it's only a couple of posters making those posts....then why go ape **** over them?
Prime Vargas totally outboxes Margarito and wins a wide decision/late round stoppage. I find it hard to see how Margarito could win, given two prime ATG's in DLH/Tito had serious problems with him. Tony is far to open and would be eating jabs/right hands whenever he tried to get close, Vargas' lateral movement would cut Marg's output in half. When needed, Vargas could also brawl with the best of them and even get the best of it on occasions, I see the same happening here (primarily due to his speed/timing/accuracy/defence advantage). Another point is that Vargas had most trouble defending against great left hooks, a punch that Margarito isn't particularly good at throwing. We should also take into account this fight is at 154, a weightclass Margarito isn;t accustommed to fighting in. Prime Fernando Vargas was a great, underrated fighter, he would beat Margarito relatively easily.
Seriously, who has Margarito beaten to give this pick against a PRIME VARGAS, there was nothing wrong with his workrate. He has more notable losses than notable wins does Tony.
Yeah some of Vargas losses where more impressive then Margaritos best wins considering the level of oppostion. Vargas lost tough, close, grueling botus with Mosley,DLH,Trinidad and I guess Margos best wins come vs Cintron which dont mean awhole lot. I do think Margarito has a good chance come Saturday but as far as resume he doesnt have a very good one when its comes to wins.
