I agree that Ali would be the favorite against any HW in his prime. Although I dont think we should compare prime Vitali with the Terell that fought Ali. Ernie was still a good boxer but at 215 lbs and somewhat wore out he would never give Ali have the problems a prime Vitali would. However I do think that Holmes and Ali in their primes would beat Vitali at least 5 to 7 fights out of 10 if they are 15 rounders.

I agree. He would lose a few but probably win more than lose. And if he lost it would still be a tough night for his opponent. Good point :good

I think Tyson would win with Vitali with relative ease. Vitali jab looked good when he was keeping at distance B-level opponents, but I doubt it would bother prime Tyson with his speed and head movement.

You're probably right, but he's fought terrible opposition. He's lost few rounds against guys who Ali, Holmes, Louis etc., would shut out and stopped guys who Frazier, Tyson, Foreman etc., would knock out easier.

i honestly believe noone in history would whup him 10 out of 10. he is too big and too awkward for anyone to dominate IMO.

see this is where stupidity comes into it. people say lewis would beat him 10 out of 10. lewis couldnt beat mccall 2 out of 2.

    norton gave ali nightmares.

and holmes couldnt get past spinks.

foreman and vitali would be a great fight to watch in my opinion, and would be pretty much whoever had the best heart.

as for tyson, i wont rule out tyson scoring a first round kayo, but out of 10 times, he did lose to douglas so no saying vitali couldnt beat him.

Who cares about 10 times out of 10? You are banking on the underprepared, pre-prime version of Lewis turning up against Vitali, rather than the Holyfield I version every fight.

You are banking on the '90 Douglas version of Tyson turning up, the one who didn't train particularly hard, and had already lost a bit of his head-movement and started already to look more for the big punch. Rather than the blistering '86-88 version

If we are talking about a one-off fight, prime-for-prime, than Vitali struggles to beat any greats at all.

far from it. Ali was a great fighter and on a much highe class then vitali. but he also had flaws.
I don't really think hypothetically that many fighters wouks beat Ali at his 65-67 peak..
Certainly wouldn't be vitali, that's for sure
