Vitali is able to neutralise Tyson’s early storm by tying him up and staying away, as Tyson tires, he ups the tempo more and more as Tyson becomes more stationary and is able to take him out late or win on points.
Vitali obviously wasn’t the quickest, but he had an iron jaw and because of the hideous height difference, he’d be able to see everything coming so he can avoid/ride the punch and tie him up.
Then as Tyson tires, he doesn’t need to stay on the defence and focus on just staying away as he’ll be able to tee off more and more as he becomes increasingly more of a sitting duck as his feet become more stationary.

I favored Tyson narrowly. While he accomplished what I believe Vitali could not, this would be a very hard fight for both physical and stylistic reasons

Vitali is all wrong for Tyson. He's a big, strong heavyweight who can keep Tyson at range and punish him if he ever closes the distance. Vitali also has the chin to absorb Tyson's shots and the cardio to take Tyson into deep waters, where Tyson tends to slow down. I don't really see how Tyson can win besides landing a lucky shot and opening a cut, but given Tyson's smaller size, even that seems unlikely.

Prime Vitali would be a very tough fight for anyone, and I mean anyone - even Ali. Also, prime Vitali would be Mike Tyson's best win on his record IMO.

A prime Vitali for me deals with an old Mike Tyson 1996 onwards comfortably enough getting the TKO as Mike was way past it after he left prison. But, prime Mike Tyson? This is really hard to call for me, I'm not confident but I think Vitali would struggle with Mike Tyson's movement because Mike Tyson would easily cut off the ring and work the inside especially to the body and make it a street fight which would break Vitali down in the long-run.

    Mike Tyson close points win.

Vitali in an exciting, exhilarating fight of two halves. Rounds 1-6 swing back and forth with both men monetarily stunned, 6-12 Vitali takes over, stopping a brave, game Tyson on his feet around the 10th...

03-04 Vitali was so big and aggressive and he could negate Tyson's strengths. Tyson could bust him up like Lennox did but he doesn't have the same height range even though he is faster than Lewis.

I am thinking this is maybe a 55-60% to 40-45% in favor of Vitali.

Tyson is way too fast and explosive. He takes the early rounds clearly, and probably has a tough go of it as it gets later.

I think Mike wins a clear decision, though. Higher calibre of fighter than Vitali, for sure.

Vitali had a incredible gas tank. One of the best for such a big man.

He didn't really have to clinch much to buy energy and time either unlike Wlad he would fight opponents off.

Tyson by comfortable (but not easy) UD.
I think it would be a remake of Tyson/Smith fight with Vitali a bit more agressive than Smith.
Tyson was very dynamic and his speed, angles, defence and footwork would give problems to Vitali.

    Agreed Vitali is overrated.

Tyson is leagues above anyone Vitali managed to beat and if Vitali was befuddled by Byrd I see him having alot of issues with Tyson's defense aswell.

Tyson beat tall fighters like Tucker, Bonecrusher, Williams, pretty comphrensively.

And unlike some of those fighters Vitali wouldn't be looking to survive he would be in there fighting which would give Tyson even more opportunities with his offence.

Vitali is not all that, and I don't think that I'd even favor him over Tokyo Tyson. Mike is a much better fighter, and I'm surprised that Klitschko would EVER get favored over him on here, considering that we got a good amount of people who'd pick Tyson over even Ali (not that I agree).

Vitali is a big target and gets outworked on way to a unanimous decision win for Mike.

Tyson was heavyweight champ at 20 which Vitali could never have done but on the other hand Vitali had longevity up to 40 and held a belt which Tyson could not have done.
