You can't compare someone to Vitali as he has never truly been decisively beaten in the ring. He has never lost more than 2 rounds in any fight nor has been knocked down. He has never truly lost.

He is a crazy h2h hw who matches Ali/Lewis on their best days.

The most difficult fight to imagine
Wlad fights taller fighters better then Vitali. Even Timo Hoffman delivered some power shots.. but it is likely that Vitali would be able to take Wlad's shots.
Wlad could use his jab effectively against hand-down style of Vitali and it could cause a lot of troubles to the elder brother. In amateur Wlad no doubt would win.
But he may not have been able to take Vitali's shots which at his prime were really powerful. And it is likely that VK could find a way to deliver them from angles WK couldn't predict.

 

I have always believed Vitali was the better fighter. I didn't rate Wlad after he turned pro and his losses to Purrity, Brewster and Sanders confirmed my initial assessment of his ability.

Wlad is quicker, more powerful and more athletic in general. But Vitali is bigger, more durable, has better stamina, better work rate and has far better natural instincts.

Wlad's usual jab and grab tactics wouldn't work against the bigger and very skillful Vitali. Vitali has the reach and size to not be manhandled like most of Wlad's smaller opponents. Which means he will struggle to control the pace of the fight. Vitali's far superior work rate will see Wlad gas late if he doesn't stop Vitali early. Those who think Vitali can't outbox Wlad should reconsider. Vitali was out boxing Lewis and forced Lewis to walk him down and grind him down. If Wlad tries that he'll get stopped early.
