I was referring to the pathetic scuffle before the fight when he took Peters belt off him, and the way he went over to have another go at him once the fight was over - the Klit-huggers loved it, I thought it was classless but that's what you get with VITLAY, he can't win or lose with dignity. As for the Haye thing....I wouldn't say I approve of it but it was hardly worthy of the hysterics the Klits had, it was just a joke t-shirt, big fuss about nothing.
Fact of the matter is: Bowe's ONLY - O N L Y - has little Evander to show. Against guys his own size Bowe was an ordinary fighter with an ordinary resume. In fact, he would rather throw away the belt than defend it against a good boxer his own size. Not only is Bowe's skill set vastly overrated, he is also a coward and his lack of discipline is a further embarrasment to the sport.
YOU are the one living in the bubble. I am sorry to pop it for you. What tall super-big amazing HWs has Holyfield taken apart? WHO EXACTLY? WHERE IS THE BIG LIST LONG LIST OF 20 NAMES? Dokes 6"3 Holmes 6"3 Douglas 6"3 Foreman 6"3 Bowe 6"5 (loss!) Moorer 6"2 Mercer 6"1 Tyson 5"10 Bean 5"11 Lennox 6"5 (loss!) So please, let's cut the crap. Holyfield boxed a group of hand-picked average height heavyweights CAREFULLY SELECTED FOR HIM BY DON KING in an era that was coined by unmotivated, uninspired American heavyweights. Any time Holyfield faced somebody that was too tall to headbutt he looked bad. A prime Vitali would have clubbed a prime Holyfield so brutally that Holyfield's cardiac health problems would have looked like a walk in the park. An ambulance helicopter would have taken Holyfield to the next hospital.
Would prime Vitaly beat Golota rather easily? Yes. Would Bowe? No - he looked horrible against Golota who - while a decent big boxer is not quite Vitaly's level. Also, Vitaly was very evenly mathced with Lewis and we saw how Lewis handled Evander. All evidence poiint to Vitaly doing better against little Evander than Bowqe did. The fact that Bowe had Evander served on a silver platter and Vitaly has not is a matter of time. Vitaly has, contrary to Bowe shown that he can handle small and big guys far more competently than Bowe. Anyone who takes the time to look at the fights and does not buy into Media hype or boxrec riders will see that Vitaly has been far superior against similar fighters.
Answer my question first. Lewis' wins over Holyfield were cautious for fighting a fighter as old as Holyfield.
Bowe's calibre? You mean a lazy guy that comes into the ring grossly overweight and AT AGE 29 (!) looks like a total amateur getting schooled by a Polish street thug called Golotha? Bowe's calibre is the same as Shannon Briggs. American B-Level. A guy who has a big mouth but not the dedication, motivation nor discipline to become a professional fighter. Bowe is the guy who tossed his belt into the garbage bin when he was about to be stripped for REFUSING to fight Lewis. That's Bowe. A deadbeat bum, a nobody.
This entire Bowe and Holyfield thing is PURELY an American fantasy that in hindsight glorifies otherwise average fighters as unbeatable national heroes. Nothing else.
Average height heavyweights? Are you kidding me? Didnt he beat Bowe? 2 inches makes all the difference regardless of skill set?? Stupid post man. Using your logic, Holyfield would have lost to Mike Grant and Henry Akinwande because they were taller than him right? Don King wasnt even his promoter until the Tyson fight?? Wrong again! Please tell me what fighter Vitali has beaten is even close to the level of a prime Bowe or Holyfield??? Please amuse me some more.
I agree. It is like holywood fiction. It is no wonder that fictive sport thrive like nowhere else on the planet. World Wrestling Federation... etc. Sports where there is virtually nothing which is competitive. Bowe was never a very good fighter. Never. And it is amazing that American media were able to actually lure people into thinking otherwise. Sure, he has the looks that make boxers popular. Just like Allen Green and Toney. All have the look that some Americans seem to like. and although Green never beat ANYONE at SMW these people think he deserves to get into SuperSix because he looks like a lazy eyed thug. wake up ffs. snap out of it. Again, Bowe never was more than a half decent boxer. The level of Shannon Briggs and imo. below the (skill) level of Mercer.
You have mixed me with someone else. I don't know what exactly you're referring to but yes Lewis's win over Holyfield is hugely overrated because Holyfield was 37 year old and lost to Ruiz just a year after that fight not to mention that he was much smaller than Lewis.
Then, again who has Vitali beaten? That shop worn CW is an ATG heavyweight and Bowe beat him. Did Vitali beat an ATG heavyweight? I also read that Bowe had poor defense which is pure nonsense again. He was taught the nuances of defense by the great Eddie Futch. Man, this forum is slipping, very very fast.
Never a good fighter. He won a silver medal in the olympics, became undisputed heavyweight champion. Defended his title twice. Pure luck right? James Toney was never a good middleweight??? WTF!!!!!!!!! PLEASE Tell me what makes Vitali's record so special. Please list some opponents who were on the level of Bowe or even close for that matter. Please?? At least try and back up your stupidity with something?
