PRIME Vitali vs PRIME Lewis

    I'm not talking about the Vitali that fought Lewis 50 years ago. I hate that people so often use that fight to say that Lewis, even old and washed up, would beat Vitali...Lewis TKO6 is the most often response to the question.

    That version of Vitali wasn't nearly as good as thisw 40 year old version. Back then, he quit against Byrd. He quit FFS. This older version, after possibly hurting his knee against Adamek, decided to end the fight before the injury got bad. Saturday night's Vitali beats Byrd like he was sparring...hurt shoulder and all. He just woulda KO'd Byrd as soon as the injury happened.

    So my question is how would you see a Prime Vitali (is he possibly in his prime now...they say 40 is the new 30) against a Prime Lewis, say even Lewis from Rahman 2. Could possibly have been one of the best Heavyweight fights of all time. Two giants with endless courage and ego trying to kill each other!

    btw, Saturday's Vitali would annihilate the Lewis he fought all those years ago, when Vitali was seemingly green.

    And im not really a fan of Vitali or his style. I prefer Wlad's style as a boxer, technically sound, but I think Lewis beats Wlad, prime for prime, but Vitali beats Lewis. Perfect eg of styles make fights as well, Tyson results would be opposite i believe (i know, off topic).

    So honestly, any opinions on Prime Vitali vs Prime Lewis?

    The Vitali of 2003 was way better than he is now.

    Faster on his feet, heavier handed..... there's no way he'd have been extended ten rounds or more by the likes of Sosnowski, Arreola, Briggs, Adamek and Johnson. Just no way at all.

    He should try to do it :yep. Lewis himself isn't so confident, otherwise he would have come back years ago.

    leave Lewis alone ffs you would think he never fought vitali the way these guys go on. look how fat lewis face is at retirement announcement. he was clearly past his best.

    even if they did rematch and vitali won everyone would criticise as obviously Lewis was past it

    Thanks for the all the Lewis TKO6 answers. I was hoping that real fight fans would respond and give a real answer. Theres gotta be some people that can think for themselves, and not just be imbeciles.

    btw, Adamek woulda been KO'd in 1 or 2 rounds if Vitali had wanted to. I agree with the man when he says he is a much better fighter than he was 10 years ago.

    This wasnt a trolling thread, or a Klit nutsack hanging thread. It was a legitimate question posed to people that are real fans of the sport. Maybe I'll get some intelligent responses and can have a real discussion, and intelligent discussion.

    Why would he come back he was old when he retired, and no brain damage :yep

    About this tread well its very stupid to say that 2011 Vitali is better than 2003 version, simply not true!!!

    prime for prime your looking at faster stronger better conditioned Lewis against Slower version of Vitali after the horrific injuries.

    cant see Lewis losing this one.

    I see a bloody, dragged out, all out war UD win for Lewis. Neither fighter would have ever been the same though, so maybe it was good they never met prime for prime. Old Lewis, while wrecking Vitali's face, couldnt do permanent damage, and that Vitali he fought wasnt experienced enough to finish off Lewis
