*Vitali was killing Lewis then before the stoppage...and no doubt the Vitali that fought the other night would kill Lewis... people think that a nlighter Lewis fights better..truth is,a lighter Lewis simply runs like he did most of the Tua fight... Vitai's the better fighter..PERIOD.
I also think the boxing world has Lewis to thank for Vitali being so dominant and vicious now. Nobody has ever done to him what Lewis did that night, and I'm sure he swore to himself he would make sure it never happened again. It's almost like every fight he is in he is taking out his frustrations from that fight on his opponent.
ROFL Lennox is happily retired. He has a wonderful wife & family is a very rich man living a very happy life. Why would he need to come back? He totally destroyed Vitali's face when barely 80% fit. Name me one other world champion that took on his #1 contender at 2 weeks notice when his warm up fight opponent dropped out injured ? You wont find one A 100% Lennox in his prime beats both lumbering Kiltschko's with ease Ali would literally play with Vitali forcing him to quit again:bbb
ROFLMAO what fight were you watching?? Lewis nearly decapitated Vitali with that vicious shot OL Vit clung like a leech. Lennox would have stopped Vitali within 2 rounds even without the facial damage. A 100% fit prime Lewis DESTROYS a prime Vitaliatsch
I think prime for prime, Lewis is a step above both the Klicthko brothers. Maybe not as big but more fluid and athletic, more of a natural boxer than Vitali or Wlad. I think a prime Lewis would beat any version of Vitali via KO or TKO
Go watch Briggs take Vitali the distance. Then go watch Briggs a decade earlier get annihilated by Lewis. /thread
I get the impression Vitali doesnt wanna KO his opponents. He wants to punish them and beat them up for 12 full rounds. Kinda like what Wlad promised to do with Haye. Where dya think he got that idea from anyways? He had probably heard his big brother say it countless times during their Corn Flakes
Lewis won fair and square on cuts but, no doubt controversial since; 1. Vitali landed over 50% more punches than Lewis... 2. Vitali won 4 of 6 rounds 3. He fought almost 4 rounds with limited view on one eye. Lewis was a bit heavier than usual but remember that apart from Grant, Vitali was the heaviest opponent he had ever faced. Lewis was 37 at the time and did not appear shot to me. Perhaps he underestimated Vitali though. In my view neither was too far from prime and a rematch with a highly motivated Lewis and a more experienced Vitali would have been VERY interesting and very hard to predict.
look at his fat face when he announced his retirement. go back and look at him around the first bruno fight. big difference he was clearly past it and unmotivated. still capable of holding his own with the younger man though and even though some people cant stand the result it was a good fight vitali definitely deserves credit for shape hes in now even older than Lewis was then. although Vitali didnt have one third of the tough fights Lewis had so maybe its easier for him to dominate. Definitely deseves respect for his shape and condition. some point to his Ped use but that was once and take a look at James Toney if you think PEDs give you Vitalis physique
