Vitali overpowers him - late in the fight. Vitali matches Fury for size, can fight on the inside, hits very hard, great engine, fantastic chin and certainly very happy to turn the fight into a street-fight. Many of the advantages that Fury had against Wlad and Wilder would be non existent against Vitali. In addition to this, Vitali wouldn't get baffled by Fury's feints etc and Vitali would make it his fight.

I can see Fury winning early rounds by counter-punching and boxing off the backfoot, but Vitali warms up slowly, breaking Fury down by the early to mid-rounds and starts battering and beating Fury up. 11th round TKO for Vitali.

Vitali, the most overrated HW in a long time.
Fury is better in almost every way.
    Let's break it down.

    General speed: Fury d Vitali
    Hand speed: Fury d Vitali
    Defence: Fury d Vitali
    Reach: Fury d Vitali
Power: Hard to pick, both are attrition finishers, but Fury has better stoppages actually. Call it a draw.
    Punch variety: Fury d Vitali
Chin: mythical chin of Vitali MIGHT be better but it wasn't really proven either since he rarely fought a tall power puncher where he was in their strike zone, and definitely never took shots like Fury did against Wlad and Wilder. Let's say Vitali gets this one just to give him something.
Engine: Close, but Fury has done 12 with far more movement, so Fury d Vitali
    Determination: Fury d Vitali
Ring IQ: Fury d Vitali (Vitali did the same predictable thing, Fury has adapted in many ways and is clearly cleverer)

So in that ten round contest Fury gets 8 rounds, Vitali gets 1 round and one is a draw.

    Fury d Vitali by UD.

IMO Fury is better technically, and has a better ring IQ. In addition, Fury is taller than Vitali, and that would be, it seems to me, the only case in Vitali's career. And I don't know how Vitali would have found a solution to Fury's illusiveness, when he didn't find a solution to Byrd's illusiveness.
Of course I'm not talking about Fury from the fight with Ngannou.
    Fury UD.

If Fury boxes like he did against Wlad I can see him winning a close decision. If he tries the Kronk style like he did against Wilder I think he has a hard time in the clinches - Vitali was a massive guy and we saw what happened with Ngannou. A more aggressive Fury for me gets hurt at some point and potentially loses a close decision. I think the fight is very competitive either way.

Would have said Fury but after his performance against Ngannou, Vitaly.

Lead feet and leaning back aren't going to work against a guy thats bigger and longer than you are. Vitali had slow heavy hands. Fury isn't going to struggle with that. Slow, lack of movement, and lack of one-punch KO power don't strike me as enough to trouble Fury. Yeah Vitali isn't getting knocked out but Fury has the advantages where he needs them.

Fury is faster, better on his feet, and has better fundamentals..I don't see how Fury loses this one.

Prime Fury beats Vitali everyday of the week and twice on a sunday.

Prime Fury was faster, more agile, higher ring IQ, stronger mind etc

Only thing I would give Vitali is power and even that is debatable...

Fury decision over 12 rounds while frustrating Vitali...

Actually think this would be a decent fight as Vitali could punch a bit.

I imagine prime Wlad v Fury would be an absolute bore on points, god knows which way. Wlad jab and grab against Fury's unconventional poking, I could probably do without it

Vitali was an outboxer with no inside boxing ability whatsoever. He required space to throw his arm punches so there no scenario based on reality where Vitali over powers him.

Fury has the advantage in close and on the outside. The fight would like look like Wlad or another example - Ward vs Carl Froch. . Thats not to say Vitali was as skilled as Carl Froch. The point is Vitali was one dimensional. Fury is multi dimensional ad has a far greater ring IQ

Vitali. Fury has his 0 but Vitali never went down in a fight or behind in the cards in any fight and has 21% higher ko%.

Vitali was a big guy but Ngannou is a lot bigger in terms of mass (and a lot stronger), he has at least 25 lbs of muscle on prime Vitali. Fury would have a way easier time in the clinch against Vitali than he did against Ngannou.
