Bernard didnt cheat that bad when he was a lil bit younger, he didnt hold 'as much' either. If Hop held less joe couldve well got off with more punches, and couldve in theory won by an even clearer margin...

    Hopkins would never KO Joe.

calzaghe marginally beat a way-off-prime hopkins. the answer is obvious to all but extremely patriotic brits and b-hop haters.

Styles make fights, Hopkins would make anyone look bad.

I'd say if you're going talking about them fighting each other in their respective primes Hopkins gets it, but it's possible that an older Hopkins would be more successful as he fights a lot less open than he used to.

Hopkins could make anyone look bad.

All this nonsense about prime vs prime etc - they had a fight, and Calzaghe won.

OK, Hopkins isn't prime, but he is hardly 'way past his best' as many are putting it. It seems like the Yanks are unable to give an opposition fighter credit for a victory, yet again.

I scored the fight 114-113 for Joe, it was a close one and difficult to score, the judge who scored the bout 116-111 should be struck off the judges list, or sent back to four rounders to learn again.

Difficult question to answer. I think it needs to be noted that Hopkins style is affected much less by advancing age than Calzaghe's style.

Exactly. I suppose Jersey Joe Walcott is much better than Tyson prime for prime given how shot Mike was at 38 and how great Jersey Joe looked at 38

Perhaps Hopkin's persistent play acting and reluctance to engage Calzaghe pissed that judge off. He did show his immense talent for spoiling once again. To be part of such a high profile event and do your best to make it as unentertaining as possible isn't something I'm too eager to applaud and if Nard is being 'forced out of the sport' as some have said then good riddance to boring rubbish if you ask me.

Prime for prime I do believe Hopkins would have been too smart for Calzaghe though. Fair play to Joe though I thought he would lose on Sunday.

In Hopkins prime he hardly fought a top class full middleweight. Joe is past his prime now.

Prime for prime Joe would have stopped B-Hop.

wow, I'm surprised that anyone at all, let alone the majority of people went for Calzaghe.
