if you want to make these sought of comparisons then make them when floyd has retired. its obvious prime whitiker takes it but when pbf is done with and got a few more victories then you may come to a different conclusion. PBF could beat cotto, margo, mosley and williams and if he does then your conclusion would be different.
orite could be different, but if he does beat them guys, his resume would be greater than whitakers, also against them guys he would be tested with all different styles and you would be able to see if he is as great as mallignaggi says he is.
How so? Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, and Williams don't fight anything like Whitaker, who would have a stylistic edge from his jab and southpaw stance. All these wins would do is raise my ranking of Floyd on accomplishments; they wouldn't make me reconsider how he'd fare against Whitaker, Hearns, and Leonard.
well there aint a fighter at 147 that does fight like whitaker, these guys are meant to be the best there so if floyd gives them all a boxing lesson it may well force you to re-think, obviously he is expected to beat them but if he beats them in impressive fashion then many people may pick floyd to beat whitaker, which i don't at the moment. i'm just trying to say that these comparisons aint fair, there is alot of hatred agaisnt floyd on this site. there's been the floyd vs duran thread floyd vs hearns thread floyd vs hagler thread floyd vs whitaker thread now the only one that i think floyd would win is the duran fight, the other three are created by guys that want to see people ripping into floyd. why don't we see the tito vs hagler thread, because tito is a fan favourite and floyd aint. tito vs hagler may even be a closer fight, but i would still back hagler to win. point is there is no use for threads that you already know the answer of.
But this fight does the risk of being boring in which niether boxer would want to be the aggressor. There counter puncher style is more effective against punchers that come forward. Don't take it as me trying to discredit two great master boxers. I'm just sayin that against each other might be a snoozer with very little action. we will not see constant toe to toe action like in the Marquez/Vasquez fights. it will be very technical. I don't see a knock out by eaither, Whittaker by split D
If Floyd wasn't **** he wouldn't be considered in those match-ups. So for him to be mentioned in mach-ups against Great Legends, what does that tell you?
