That's cute and all but bears no relation to what I said and doesn't at all disprove that Fury and Ali fight using the same style and mannerisms.

In twenty years there will be a 300lb boxer with elite skills and the usual suspects will still be picking Ali by KO. :risas3:

Wlad was the definition of the lineal champion even if you don't count the Chagaev fight.

You posted a video of Ali clowning around with Lyle that the original uploader was stupid enough to think was his rope a dope, Fury would never willingly take in excess of 100 body shots from Foreman, they are not from the same cloth

He also started the 70s unable to outbox Bonavena, Chuvalo lost but worked him very hard he was hurt and struggled at times with Mac Foster who had spots where he teed off on him. This is who will outbox Wlad?
gliding in an out like a “Phantom” the “boxing wizard” is stuck outside and if he presses Wlad he gets clocked a lot harder then Cooper gave it to him in his legendary prime, this isn’t Ernie Terrell or Ken Norton… Muhammad is someone who people here would usually condemn as “just being big” just like the Klitschko’s, too big for the better boxers, too smart for the dumb fighters like GF, RL, KN etc.
Where does the evidence that he could accomplish this “boxing exhibition” lie? Within the 60s against small guys like Folley? Williams? Liston? Terrell?

He was comfortably ahead against Bonavena ... by 10 rounds on one scorecard ... and basically knocked him TFO. Where do people get that Bonavena ever threatened Ali in one millisecond of that fight? And Chuvalo worked him hard trailing by seven points on one card, eight on another and Ali basically pitched a shutout on the other card? And he was up by eight points on each card against Mac Foster who "teed off on him." Or was all that just the standard refrain by people who deny Ali's greatness, that the judges were in love with his act?

The Bonavena fight was a lot closer then the cards indicate, I still don’t get why people act like it was some dominant performance and that KO was illegal let’s be honest LOL.
Before someone digs up a **** post thread, no I didn’t think Bonavena was actually winning lol.
I’m not saying any of these guys were even going to win or even could but what I seen in those fights showed me someone who could not beat Wlad.
Watch the Foster fight, you’ll see what I’m talking about, the kind of fighter that lets that happen isn’t one who I’d want in-front of Wlad.
The only HW’s I think can beat Ali are very slim pickings it’s hardly “greatness denial” so check yourself on that, I think he’s the #1 HW of all time but he’s not invincible, not at all and H2H like everyone there are terrible match ups for him like everybody else and he didn’t look as good as everybody pretends in the 70s he’d get killed by guys like Lennox and Wlad.

I think he did look as good pre-Manila, and the thing about him is that except for Norton I where he got a real wake-up call, he rose to the occasion depending on the opposition.

Could you break down how you actually think Ali would fight Wlad? I don’t see a path, I don’t even particularly like Wlad even if he was the HW champion of my childhood.

It’s odd when fighters who relied on physicality in the past like 70s Foreman, Liston, Ali are matched up with huge disadvantages they suddenly develop a new skill set beyond the grave.
Louis is an example of a big fighter of his time who could beat anybody, he had the technical savvy of a 135lbs fighter, he boxed beautifully and it’s obvious.
Tyson demonstrated what he could do his whole career against juiced up heavyweights he moved like a bantam in the 80s.
Evander Holyfield did very well for himself, but he built that skill set as a small heavy from the start and isn’t a stand in for the past who didn’t.
