I would love to have seen this fight. Wlad would last about the same length of time Michael Grant did.
i laugh at this whole debate. if vitali is that great like his fans make him out to be, then surely he should of knocked out lennox that night who was 38 years old, he was at his heaviest weight of his career, and had the longest inactivity of his career, so when putting all of this together, then vitali had the best chance of beating lennox than anyone ever has, and he failed. simple as, he couldn't beat the worst possible lennox lewis.
Yeah, this should be obvious to folk. Bit of a shame it was stopped though, Vitali was holding on for dear life like a mofo before the bell at the end of the 6th.
I'm a big fan of Lewis but Wlad is a class above, he would KO Lewis earlier than McCall or Rahman did.
im sick of the whole debate, i suppose Lewis should have avoided Vitali's face after he cut it lol, it was clinical and professional from Lewis:good
Oldest, fattest, shottest, laziest Lewis TKO 6 PRIME Vitali. There. The only thing Wlad-ites could possibly cling to is the Bruno fight, where a pre-prime Lewis was outboxed by a fighter putting on easily the best performance of his career..... before being stopped on his feet. As for McCall, Rahman etc - Wlad doesn't fight anything like those guys.
I don't really believe that, I was just trying to balance out the exaggerated claims coming from the other direction. I would make Lewis the favourite but I think it would be a very competitive fight. Lewis couldn't just bumrush past W. Klitschko's jab or get too wild against a fighter with the power Klitschko has in both hands. I don't see it being a brawl but more of a chess match with both guys staying behind the jab trying to set up big right hands. If it went the distance I'm confident Wlad would win on points but both fighters have less than granite chins and huge power so I think Lennox would hurt Wlad first based on his more aggressive style, should Wlad land big however Lewis' night would end early.
I respectfully disagree. We can say the exact samething about Wlad if Lennox were to land! What most people are forgetting is Lennox Lewis will to take power shots...Its kinda crazy how he took shots from some good punchers...If Rahman landed that punch...He would have KO'ed a lot of Heavyweights...With that being said...we cant forget, how Lennox was taking Vitali's best shots to later to return fire of his own...So the chin myth gets blown out of proportion a little bit. Lennox is miles ahead of Wlad...Vitali, who is the tougher and more powerful of the two, gave Lennox all he could handle but still couldnt manage to get him out of there...So I honestly dont see Wlad KO or winning on points or KO'ing out Lennox! Wlad will play it safe just like he did with Sultan IMO...thats another factor on why I dont see him winning against Lennox.
I think that Lewis is more likely to KO Wlad than vice versa, I guess I wasn't clear enough in my first post. You say that Vitali is more powerful than Wlad, which I don't agree with. He is definitely tougher but Wlad has more power and if he connected flush like Vitali did against Lewis the fight would have been over. Wladimir is also more technically sound than his brother and is capable of keeping Lewis at distance. I think Lennox is one of the 5 best HW's in the history of boxing but Wladimir is near the top 10 so this fight is far from a mismatch. Both guys have been KO'd by lesser fighters but possess ATG skills.
