I thought he defended it once before he lost it against Bruno. I might be wrong.

He beat Barret. I guess it was interim at the time and became the actual title when Vitaly retired. They had the interim because of the multiple postponenments. Yeah, then he drew with Toney, you're right on that.

I personally don't see it. I think if you were compiling a top 10 H2H list you could probably find a way to get Wlad into the top 10, but not in terms of career accomplishments.

Ali, Louis, Holmes, Lewis, Foreman, Marciano, Holyfield, Dempsey, Johnson, Tyson, Jeffries, Liston, Frazier will likely all rank ahead of Wlad after his career is over along with a few others I haven't bothered to name.

In terms of the thread, Lewis would at the very least be the heavy favourite going into the fight and unless he got caught, he would likely overwhelm Wlad, as I'm fairly certain you would see Lewis in "agressive mode" simply because he would know that would represent his best method of winning. Given that strategy, it would likely end in the first few rounds.

The Wlad of 2008/2009 would be a tough fight for every ATG, including LL. He is tougher than he was in 2003-2005.

LL was a very good / great overall fighter, who could brawl when cornered or enraged. Enough power to floor any fighter, and Wlad has no real size advantage in that fight. LL had the speed, skill, and even toughness to overcome Wlad's jab defense.

Wlad is on the same level of strength, skill, speed, and ring generalship. But he lacks the killer instinct LL showed. Wlad knows he can be floored, and goes for clinching/defense, when he could demolish his opponent.

I assume LL would defeat Wlad in the majority of fights, probably on points, but more likely on late TKO. But I could not see a one-sided fight.

i would say that wlads jab is even way better than lewis jab, yeah and lewis uppercut was devestating:thumbsup but for me wlad is the better pure boxer, but if there would have been a fight between them, i can't see wlad winning, because lewis would get that wlad is the better boxer and would try to crush him with aggression, and thats the way lewis would win, i can only see a ko win for lewis. if lewis starts fast, then a ko in the first two rounds, if lewis starts slow and wants to box, then he will realize that wlad is very difficult to box and would try to knock him out and will get his ko. wlads only chance is, if lewis wants to box in the first rounds, so wlad can take him with a straight right, but i don't think that this is possible

Difficult to say who wins but a lot of posters are judging Klitschko before he reached his peak. Lewis is the harder puncher but Klitschko is better at punching and moving going to his left and the Ukrainian's left hook is better than what Lewis showed most of the time. I think if it had been Vladimir fighting Lennox instead of Vitali, following the same kind of right hand Vitali landed early in the fight Lewis would have been in a lot of trouble because the younger Klitschko is much, much, much better at putting combinations together than his brother, although that may be a reason that Vladi punched himself out twice while Vitali didn't do the same thing.

Ross Purrity isn't the level of Rahman or McCall but Brewster & Sanders are.

You could argue that Brewster is the best of the bunch too. Sanders was once a top prospect too, not a journeyman.

I want to favor Lewis, but Wlad definitely would have a shot. Lewis used his physical attributes (height, reach) to his advantage and feasted on shorter guys. Golota lost the Lewis fight before he ever entered the ring and had he came in with his head right, may have been able to surprise Lewis. Grant sucks for a super-heavy so don't even use him as an example.
