Bruno's overhand right was an excellent punch when he threw it properly. As for ''disposing with ease'' - only in the Tyson rematch with one eye was he beaten easily. He schooled Bonecrusher for 9 rounds, was level pegging with Witherspoon, nearly KO'd Tyson and was clearly ahead against Lewis, all the time stopped on his feet. I'd say he was in between the likes of Wlad and Briggs talent wise, but talent and H2H are two different things.
I don't think so. Bruno was a manufactured fighter,a good on top fighter ,with heavy, but ponderous power, his problem was when he got tagged he froze like a statue, and got battered. The only time he came back from adversity to win was against Cummings ,and the bell saved him then.
Manufactured is a bit harsh in my opinion. Robotic certainly, there wasn't much fluidity to his work at the best of times, he always looked a bit clunky. He wasn't the first fighter to be a front runner, in fact Wlad himself has seldom had to dip into the well against decent opposition, being stuck on your arse three times by Sam Peter doesn't bode well. The Cummings example is a good one, he was all but out.... but I'd say he dealt with adversity well through his career coming back from damaging defeats, if you watch the McCall fight again he was blinking from the 2nd round onwards with his problematic bad eye.... a stricter ref might have taken a point off him late which might have led to his demise in that one, I don't know. Definitely a good, bordering on very good heavyweight that could certainly give Wlad much more problems than he's had in his last ten fights combined. Not a dig at Wlad, it's just the division that's rubbish right now.
Bruno at his best was basically a heavyweight Quartey offensively and technically with less speed, chin, stamina and defence..a poor man's version.Still, he could be a force offensively if you let him settle into his slow groove.wlad best not be too cautious against him as he has more than enough tools to jab with him and horribly cave his skull in very quickly if he lands. It's the stamina and chin that would likely do him in, but Wlad also has shown those problems to a level where i wouldn't be betting loads of money on him.
He would probably be his hardest test so far, but, as you pointed out the division is in a pretty bad state anyway. Dealing with adversity, like travelling alone to Colombia for an eye operation, and coming back from crushing defeats is admirable ,but I was referring to coming back when behind in a fight.
I think your using a poor choice or words here. I am more of a skeptic on Johnson. Player hating on Klitschko is Fighting Weight's hobby at ESB. He will quote people out of context to start threads, and often give false facts. On Johnson its no secret I think he's over rated, but I do go out of my way to list facts and explain why. If I am mistaken, I'll revise my thinking.
Thoughts ... both Kiltschko brothers tend to puff up and cut up fairly easily ... against a hard jabber like Bruno that can be a huge problem ... Lennox became a much better jabber under Lewis in the final third of his career ... his jab became a formidable weapon ...
Bruno was a damn good fighter for the first half of fights. Tyson is the only guy to hold a clear lead against him at the time of Bruno's stoppage losses. And he seriously hurt Tyson in their first fight which proves that he had monsterous power as hurting Tyson with a single shot or two was something few could do. Bruno-Wlad is pretty interesting. Wlad obviously has the much deeper and better resume and ranks much higher all time but Bruno has the edge stylistically imo.
Aren't you the guy that said the doctor that pulled VITLAY out of the Lewis fight was a racist? Seriously, when it comes to quoting out of context and giving false facts, you're in no position to throw accusations about my son.
Yep....you must be a player hater too I guess. WALDO has beaten better fighters than Bruno, but Bruno lost to better fighters than WALDO. Despite all the bull**** the Klit-ites are spouting, this fight would not be an easy day at the office. Take a look at Bruno's KO percentage and then tell me he has no chance against a timid, robotic, safety first type guy with a shaky chin :bart
