Prime Zsolt Erdei would be the biggest styllistic nightmare for Andre Ward

to be fair i think alot of fighters beat ward through the ages, and you dont have to look too far.

 

No im talking about taking all the politics away and all the bull****. In a neutral venue, Ward is a tough match up for anyone but i still i dont see him as unbeatable, mental strength is a great asset, hes not quite as slick as he looks, He lost the 1st fight against Krusher, kovalev showed bad stamina, he wasnt figured out as such by ward, as it was still very close, plenty of fighters in the past dont deal with such stamina issues, ward exploited it well, many more would have i think. An inside close range fighter who can bully ward will give him huge problems. And alot of fighters wouldnt let him get away with those low blows and blantant butts.

 

Kovalev had the style to beat Ward, he was able to nullify the inside game of Ward in the first fight and some of the second by being stronger in the clinch and he was also able to keep Ward honest with the jab whilst having the power to keep Ward on the outside.

Problem is he didn't have the mental fortitude or the adaptability to see it through 100% and that cost him.

 

SOB said that neutral judges would be unfair to him...................that's because he cheats. We had a champion who would fight anyone and often, but Kovalev was robbed two times, once by the judges and next by the criminal referee Tony Weeks. Now Ward will probably not fight for years........................

 

Amazing combinations. In one of those highlights of his fights, Erdei was fighting at CW in one of them and his speed looked good at that weight also

 

I did a thread years ago, as it looked a possibility then for undefeated unification fight between Erdei and Cloud. Will try and find it

 

How come no one walked Calzaghe down if he slapped? How come top trainers rate him as special ? How come most fighters rate him highly? Jones jnr said " Those slaps hurt you"..Slappers don't go anywhere in boxing, and you know how far that welsh boy went don't you !

He gives Ward a good fight but i think Ward wins by late stoppage or UD. Would give a good fight though. This guy was no scrub.

 

Zolt wasn't bad but he never beat anybody on Wards level and he went life n death with mediocre Gearry twice arguably losing both fights.
He was a 175 pound version of Ottke only with less gift decisions. Ward beats him handily.
