So being 'weight drained' stops you from throwing any punches?
I'm sorry but the fact is the only thing being 'weight drained' would do is effect the power of your punches and your energy levels. It may also weaken your punch resistance.

But come on it does not change your SKILLS as a boxer and that night Pacquiao was BEATING Oscar De La Hoya to the punch EVERYTIME. To the point that DLH stopped throwing punches.

When DLH corner threw in the towel they said 'There's no point continuing anymore - HE'S TOO FAST!'

I believe I put forward a strong case that no version of DLH would be able to handle Manny's speed. As that is the thing which won Pac the fight.

I'm sorry but the only way Oscar wins against MP is by using his larger size and power.

If we're talking purely about boxing skills and speed, Manny beats him EVERY TIME. DLH cannot handle Manny's speed. It's as simple as that.

I wonder why he was beating DLH to the punch everytime, DLH is drain and past it.

You even said it yourself, it lowers his energy level, DLH lacked any energy is that fight and barely moved and got hit all the time.

Hatton was more accurate that DLH.

I see this fight at 135 as well. Pac at 147 has hope against Oscar. Pac against lightweight Oscar has no hope. Ko by 4.

lol, now you are digging records when pac was green and just a boy. now let me ask you, who is more impressive at the higher weights with the common opponents? you are favoring a prime oscar to ko pac but favoring floyd over prime oscar when floyd cannot win that convincingly over a past-prime oscar? you are really a joyboy. :nut :D

I'd like to see you guys break down their skills and why Oscar would so crush Pac. Pac is a stylistic nightmare for any Oscar. Oscar is a natural southpaw that fights right handed. A southpaw with the foot speed and perfect footwork of Manny is the worst possible match up for him bar none. Oscar has never had a right hand. And therefor has never had an answer for southpaws. It took a crooked decision for him to beat an old Whitaker.

In fact there is really no point in debating this because in some parallel universe where Oscar and Manny where both in their primes at the same time Oscar would have ducked Manny. Oscar would never ever fight a prime southpaw with the skill of Manny ... EVER!

No he stopped throwing punches because everytime he did he was countered by Pac's faster hands.

De La Hoya didn't run out of steam ala 'Jermaine Taylor'.

Did you really think the fight was that close?

EDIT - I love how when you talk and bring up but Pac started at 106lbs, it matters, even though he was 16 and not even close to being fully grown. He was fighting worthless professionals who would be beat by amateurs.

But when I mention his early career losses they don't count? Lol...

There's no bias here. FLoyd would have killed DLH the same way Pac did if Floyd got to fight DLH at 147 and weigh more than him.

    DLH by KO.

Too big, fast enough not to get made to look foolish.
