Primes at Lightheavy weight- Michael Spinks vs. Michael Moorer

I will go with M. Spinks to decision Moorer here.

 

Moorer was a different fighter at LHW. He was aggressive, and won I think all of his fight by KO. I think it would be a good competitive fight, pickem almost.

 

Moorer looked impressive at lightheavyweight, but never proved himself against elite level opposition at 175Lbs. The best fighter he faced in that division was most likely Leslie Stewart, who had him outboxed for 8 rounds before getting tagged, and the only reason that happened was because Stewart had a soft beard. Spinks had both the boxing ability, ring savy, chin, stamina and power to outclass Moorer as well as the power to make him pay for his mistakes.

I could be wrong, but here's a vote for Spinks by KO late.

 

Spinks would spark Moorer by the 10th round.

Moorer's over-aggresiveness at LHW would be his undoing here, Spinks would counter him all night. I think Moorer is quite overrated overall, although his achievements cannot be denied.

 

Spinks was a good two levels above Moorer at LHW. A bout between the two at HW on the other hand could've been quite competitive.

 

Spot on; struggling to figure out Leslie Stewart, Marcellus Allen and Danny Stonewalker, is no preparation to fighting one of the five best fighters the division has ever seen.

Spinks would have exposed Moorer's weak chin at light heavyweight & knocked him out in the closing stages.

 

Spinks almost certainly. Moorer was very exciting but never beat class opposition at the weight, & here he’s matched against one of the best the division has ever seen. If nothing else, Spinks deserves substantial benefit of the doubt.

 

Spinks by ko 7-10 rds the most.
Spinks would have early difficulty with Moorer's southpaw stance and speed. He'd also be weary of his power.
But Moorer with his aggression would eventually walk into the Jinx .

In Spinks it can be argued he was the best in the history of the division.
Moorer never fought anyone significant at that weight class.
Spinks was a couple levels better than Moorer.
